Black Cat/Felicia Hardy Appreciation 2023

I don't think the MCU could do a good Black Cat. Felicia stories require two things the MCU has historically been terrible at depicting. Romance and sexuality.

They're certainly almost no sexyness allowed but I think they've done romance ok. Cap and Peggy, Tony and Pepper, Peter and Gamora before infinity War. They've certainly stumbled but it's not a lost cause.

That said I don't exactly have faith Sony will make her sexy either. But if we can just get a decent heist movie with a fun Felicia I'll consider it a win, especially after Morbius and looking like Kraven.

lol, the Spider-Smasher story in Edge of Spider-Verse #3 reveals that Billie's universe has it's own Black Cat, Gata Negra (who is black, and apparently from Dominica, hence the Spanish translation of the name), but it was Miles she was close with!

The She-Hulk show on Disney+ actually did it really well. Have a couple of female writers in the room and it'll shine through IMO.

I think Sony currently has plans for a black cat project at the moment

The She-Hulk show on Disney+ actually did it really well. Have a couple of female writers in the room and it'll shine through IMO.

It felt like the show was still kind of...I don't want to say ashamed, but also not fully able to commit to She-Hulk being this attractive, sexy, lady so I'm not too sure about that.

Hm I never got the sense of that in general, though there was the narrative thread that she wanted to be liked for being Jennifer and not She-Hulk, and as the season progressed she was apprehensive about leaning on that persona in her personal life too much, which is maybe where you got that vibe?

But what I was particularly thinking of was how she was depicted unapologetically as a woman that actually has desires, flirts, dates, hooks up for fun. And yeah, she gets slut-shamed for it, but that's more showing how misogynistic and hypocritical sexist men and the whole Madonna/whore kind of complex can be.
