And MJ don’t want anything to do with Peter
And if she changes her opinion then what? What if Peter is dating some girl doesn’t even have to be Felicia and MJ comes and start talking to Peter, should Peter have to be free and available for when MJ when her tantrums ends?
Tantrums?
Peter is the one stalking HER.
Can we just stop this shipping nonsense? Stop putting down female characters just to prop up another? It’s rather sexist and treating them just as toys for Peter - like this issue did.
IMO, this issue did Felicia a huge disservice. Jed MacKay did an amazing job turning Felicia into her own person, who doesn’t have to stand around with her hand out, hoping Peter will toss her whatever leftovers he feels like tossing. And it’s really crummy that Felicia is one of Marvel’s few popular LGBTQ+ characters and they are wasting her in a story where her thoughts and concerns revolve around Peter and the other woman in his life. She’s just the third leg of a triangle and she was still portrayed as an object Peter is using to self-soothe - and she’s okay with that, ew. The Jed MacKay Black Cat series Felicia would never. And it doesn’t say much about Felicia’s self-respect, to be with someone she knows is still very much hung up on someone else. That’s…sad.
Felicia deserves to be the apex of her own triangle with men and women vying for her attention, not a defanged house cat hoping Peter will play with her when he stops being fascinated by another woman. She is confident and attractive, she’s got sex appeal up to the top of her platinum waves - Felicia should have people of all genders lining up just for the chance for one date with her. And she deserves someone whose heart is whole and wholly hers.

No matter what Felicia does, they will find a negative. They don't want Felicia and Peter to be together, so they'll attack and recontextualize anything to stick to that.
Pointing out holes in their logic won't do anything sadly. Because they won't be happy, because Peter is with Felicia and not with MJ. So whatever good is done, or whatever maturity Felicia shows they will chalk up as "pathetic". It's no sense in asking what their logic or 'want' is, because their want is simply and plainly that they want Peter to always forever be with MJ and they will try to diminish anything else.
Felicia being understanding, supportive and mature they will rank as "Pathetic". But if Felicia had shown insecurities, bitterness, or hostility towards MJ they'd have just said Felicia was immature and make fun of people wanting Felicia and Peter to be together and would call it 'toxic'.
There's no winning with them, nor convincing them. Anything that isn't Peter and MJ they will forever lash out against and recontectualize to fit whatever negative spin they can reach for.
I guarantee you when Mary Jane even admitted to Felicia that the ways she had felt about her, was the ways she had felt about Gwen when her and Peter started dating they didn't consider her 'pathetic'.
the reality is, no matter what Felicia did, they were going to turn it negative, because they want nothing but Peter and MJ to be together and will openly bash whatever isn't that.
If they think Felicia basically telling Peter "Putting a name on how you feel is better than pretending like it was never there or doesn't exist. It's what helps move forward. Give yourself time. I trust and I support you." is 'pathetic', then that tells you all you need to know about how they'll always feel about Felicia and Peter being together.

If this was friend Felicia, helping Peter sort out his emotions, it would be an awesome scene.
But she’s already dating him apparently. And standing around hoping the man who has always chosen another and who is actively still hung up on her will somehow miraculously put you first in his life this time is…somewhat delusional. It’s a recipe for relationship disaster in real life. And maybe that’s what the writers want. Gods know the current creative team aren’t going to let Peter have a stable relationship. And they care so much about developing Peter and Felicia, the last scene they had together before this was issues ago and she still hadn’t said a full yes to going out with him. Felicia and Peter didn’t even share a panel during Dark Web. And Wells’s status quo is so poisonous it even affected MacKay in the Mary Jane and Black Cat miniseries, who has Felicia playing nursemaid to Peter’s ex who, as it turns out, is married to someone else and didn’t need her help in the first place, because Felicia is so centering Peter, she puts his emotional needs first, far ahead of her own. And being okay with being the also ran - seriously, does that sound like Felicia?
It makes Felicia a doormat.
I want Felicia to be the star of her own life, not a randomly used accessory just to cause Peter cliched relationship hijinks. Seriously, Carlie - when she was written as a competent police forensics specialist - or Bobbi Morse could have played Felicia’s role in this story and the story would have played the same.
Come back to write more Felicia, Jed. The MJ & BC miniseries is forgiven. Give Felicia someone who puts her first. Or let her have fun playing the field. She doesn’t need a love interest to be interesting - she already is.
