Yeah I don't think Orlando is doing a terrible job. Not everything is gonna land. And some villains do have bad motivations and that's why they are villains. They just don't think things through. They are kind of ridiculous and sometimes stupid. Hexfinder made no sense but she seems unstable anyway.

    One like Al Ewing
My biggest issue with Orlando is the lack of action in the first volume. Especially against these characters who should be major league magical entities, like DreamQueen.

I think part of the problem is that Wanda is too powerful to be able to just go into a standard comic fight, so Orlando has her try to reason and understand her opponents (which is a better idea) instead of beating them with one hex.

And I get that, but these aren’t magical lightweights. DreamQueen should take more than a couple panels to subdue.

Except Dream Queen isn't exactly a heavyweight either. Alpha Flight's Talisman, who not as powerful as Wanda, could easily defeated her. Also Wanda has defeated the likes of Dormammu with ease

Agreed. He really has come to his own and he seems to enjoy it. We are lucky we get such passionate people instead of like Greg Land or something.

Does anyone else miss the cape? I'm not a fan of how most artists draw the hair effect. There's no real transition from the actual hair to the magic, so it just looks weird.
My nitpick of the day, sorry.

I love the costume and hair but I do think Wanda looks great in a cape.
