At this point I’d be shocked if Harley isn’t in it. Hopefully the fifth member makes up for it.

Yeah, Harley is gonna be on the team, although Kelly Thompson did a good work in West Coast Avenger with annoying characters like Quentin Quire, so with luck she'll be able to make Harley tolerable and not a cheap Deadpool knockoff.

I'm not so convinced. Her WCA really wasn't my thing.

I expect Harley is basically just going to be Gwenpool 2.0 (speaking from Thompsons WCA run).

Ok, this was an odd choice but Zealot has been revealed as another member of the Birds of Prey.

Yeah, I'm not a big Wildstorm guy so this does nothing for me. I would've preferred Katana. Even her look feels Samurai-esque.

Both are thousands of years old but look young. How will Black Canary maintain control?

Thompson listed the Wildcats as one of the DC properties she wanted to write, I think she choose Zealot herself. Zealot is already in the Wildcats book so it’s not like she was riding the bench and waiting to be used.

This probably signals that Wildcats will be ending soon. I don’t think any character is pulling double duty on two teams at the moment (not even Batman, surprisingly) and Zealot is supposed to be one of the leads of the Wildcats book.

Since Thompson is such a Wildcats fan, I’d much rather have her take over Wildcats as well instead of having Zealot in BoP.
Rosenberg hasn’t been doing the best job on the book, so it would be nice to give another writer a try before cancellation comes.
And that would free up BoP for more diverse additions. Changing basically the whole team only to have one single POC character out of 5 is disappointing.

Ugh, I’m actually a Harley fan but I did not want to see her on this team. I was really hoping for someone like Vixen. A great character that doesn’t get any exposure or page time.

Lineup actually matches up with a tweet Thompson made of DC Characters she wanted to write. For better or for worse, I think this is all her.
