My understanding was that Kamala's sales dropped hard after Civil War 2 when her fans didn't like the way Bruno was treated, while Gwen was hit by the plot where she lost her powers and made a deal with evil Murdoch to get them back?

Her sales were low during the entirety of both Wilson and Saladin's run. Maybe that's the conclusion the fans came up with but nobody can write Kamala like Willow can. The Bruno reason is nonsensical and the last I checked he ended up with Michael - he was always treated right whoever says otherwise may have been shipping him with Kamala.

I second that nobody has ever come close to getting Kamala as right as Willow, even the artist being Adrian Alphona made the book seem so fresh. The more she got jumbled into the larger Marvel universe the more she started to seem less special to me. I remeber having friends who didn't even enjoy superhero comics that read Ms. Marvel vol 1 out of genuine interest in the themes and writing/general presentation.

Mike was basically Paul, if Paul were written by someone who cares about the characters and works to earn the readers' engagement.

Pretty much this, and another reason Kamala's Ms. Marvel has often been described as the true 21st-century successor to the Amazing Spider-Man's classic/original 1960s-era character.

Look like time in Earth-65 moves differently. Reed Richards debuted as 13 years old from data page in Spider-Gwen (post Secret Wars 2015) #12. But he says now he is 12 in Spider-Gwen: Shadow Clones (2023) #1. Miles's age will be equal to Gwen eventually if Gwen's age is also reduced.

Either editorial needs to step up with these minis or deem them elseworlds because these minis are not lining up for compatibility with her solo which had kept continuity in order. It wasn’t until these cosplay Gwen minis that continuity fell apart especially since it picked up with her and MJ being back in their world despite them being stuck in 616 at the e d of her King in Black tie-in.

Doubt it’s a matter of dealing and more a matter of editorial not doing their job. Gwen is a character that has at this point got years of continuity under her belt. You can’t really just throw in her being younger without it raising some red flags especially when time has moved forward in her universe. It feels more like editorial just lets anything fly with her due to her no longer being a priority focus. This is why you get things like characters ages being wrong or even how she was turned into a spider-moth in End of Spider-Verse in spite of the fact that her powers come from a symbiote and RYV MJ showing in the same story that one who isn’t a totem can’t be turned.

Who can say? It doesn't seem like Marvel has a clear idea what to do with her character at this point.

Really feels like that could be said about pretty much the entire Spider-line right now sans Peter and Miles. With Gwen, they’ve basically given up on any sort of narrative that actually lines up to the point that her minis just don’t line up with her previous solo. Silk just gets occasional minis and we barely see her between them. Jessica gets occasional solos but is mostly relegated to supporting cast in Captain Marvel. Ben, they have so little ideas that they’ve recycled ideas for him that have proven to not go over well. And Kaine has been in limbo ever since Spider-Geddon not even making an appearance in End of Spider-Verse despite being a 616 spider who would also be immune to Shathra and having played a role in the last 2 stories. Really, the Spider-books aren’t in a great place right now.
