Is that it? Are people just use to things being served a certain way at this point that a deviation confuses them. In his his OG solo run Blockbuster was a long term villain for 93 issues. Long game villains are not unique. So what’s the rush for Heartless to make his moove. Defeating blockbuster la fuente and Neron isn’t good enough?

Just because we want villains that actually threatening and that pose at least some challenge for the protagonist, doesn't mean we want something that's dark, depressing and really poorly written with Dick acting really out of character.

The problem is that Dick seems to completely ignore that Heartless is even out there.

He’s fighting pretty much the devil right now but that not threatening enough because why? Same with Blockbuster before.

Maybe more than some of us are giving him credit for (I can think of half a dozen), but not a lot, and nothing too high profile. But the stuff that would make a good movie if you changed it around a chunk? A loose adaptation? Dick's swimming in that sorta story.
For a direct adaptation into a movie something like Humphries Jugde story would probably a good pick, since that works pretty much as a stand alone story.

Or he’s just focused on the task at hand. Gotham typically has several supervillains out an about at a time. Bruce can only deal with one issue at at time. Especially if their unrelated.

So in other words, because he’s not losing.

Or suffering like in the new 52 days. But we have a decade of issues like that. Why is two years of good for him bad. He has earned this.

No because he isn't even struggling a little bit, and is taking out the main villain without a real fight in one panel.

That’s what happens when your experienced crime fighter it gets easier. Worst case Raven was always nearby. Neron never had a chance the moment this started. There no point ina direct fight with a being that can manipulate reality. So he took care of it quick.

That doesn't make it less boring, or Neron a credible thread.

Neron already a credible threat, he’s just playing a petty game that cost him everything
Him being here is full circle moment showing that TT has done their reaserch

But there is a struggle, just not enough for some so it’s deemed I too easy. What even is enough of a struggle though, and at what point does it stop being a victory or accomplishment if it cost him everything around him. He doesn’t need to lose the day to beat a villain for there to be stakes or for the villain to be a threat. It’s been like that for years with him. The only thing it accomplished is making him come off as an expendable loser that can be fodder for low tier writers that can’t carry a book anymore. The cost always outweighed his successes. But yes, the book could use more of that. That worked out so well for him.
