Variety article said that they planned on T'Challa being a main core of the MCU's next phase. Legitimately possible that not recasting him screwed up a ton of their plans. That one decision might be one of the main reasons why the MCU fell off so brutally and so quickly. Crazy to think about

Guess Marvel is T’cursed until that rumored soft reboot.

Boseman said that the character should not die with him.

We have seen folks die and roles get recasted. Yet because a certain part of the fandom (or those claiming to be fans) saw Shuri once held that suit and that was all they needed to start screaming Shuri as BP and they were doing that AFTER the first movie.

    There is a difference.

Bet you next time it happens there will be a recast no matter what.

While folks are cheering and clapping.

When Marvel reboots and excludes POC as leads-will those same folks be clapping because it's funny all the doomsday and pushback are when POC centric projects are happening.

Don't think a Disney executive doesn't notice it along with the war with the GOP in Florida.

Oh no, t’challa isn’t on their shambolic conveyabelt of reheated mid. Omg how Tragic. Go and ask your neighbour who the black panther is? It’s done enough now where getting BP video game. Whether the MCU drag themselves out the mud, I don’t care, but Im gonna be watch them struggle from the outside with popcorn in hand.

Would be even funnier if Sony take Spider-Man away from marvel studios

it did even though liked Wakanda forever it shouldve never been made that fast..
imo BP2 should of been the first film of phase 5 with a recast Tchalla and introducing Dr Doom during a mid credit scene.

no decision made in Hollywood is ever to "respect" or "honor" a dead actor.

    or a living one.

    ever.

this is billions of dollars we're talking about.

    don't be a mark.

Its rather telling that despite Shuri officially succeeding him, they don't seem to be doing anything with her in the pipeline.

I guess Shuri becoming BP was more for the sake of completing the already in-development Wakanda Forever than continuing any of the original plans they had intended for BP.

The MCU is undergoing a good deal of issues. Hell Chris Hemsworth has retired from acting due to health issues, meaning they can't make a Thor movie even if they want to.

Chris Hemsworth Says Claim He Was Retiring for Health Reasons 'Just Isn't the Case'.

Only recent news I'm seeing of him talking about how he's making major lifestyle changes after discovering he's high risk, nothing about retiring.

It’s also very telling that the new Ultimate universe was the perfect opportunity to double down on MCU synergy and make Shuri the BP of that universe so they can justify the “mantle” narrative. And yet it’s T’Challa again. I wonder why.

I reverse psychologized myself in to preparing for her to take over and the 6160 Ultimate Universe was the perfect opportunity but it didn't materialize

Marvel has made some bizarre decisions with the MCU. Not recasting T'Challa is just one in a long list of utterly bizarre decisions.

Besides Disney's destructive content mining for streaming, a lot of Marvel's problems are self-inflicted.
