God I hate how they traded out the webs for chains. Dude’s got a spider symbol on his chest and decides that chains are the more hip thing to go with.

Spawn had them first, though since Todd McFarlane basically recycled Venom's design, symbiote suit and all, and spliced it with Ghost Rider's origin (deal with the devil resulting in hellish superpowers), it made sense. As for Venom with chains instead of webs, that was Dylan Brock's thing after bonding with the symbiote following King in Black.

Yea but it just feels so stupid to trade out Venom’s webs for chains while he’s using essentially the same design of Venom that Eddie is known for which holds an association to the webs. If they were gonna change the weapon, they should have given Dylan his own Venom look from the start. Kinda like how no one is gonna bat an eye to Flash using weaponry as Venom due to his version having a military tactical gear design to it. And even then, he still would use webs in addition to his guns.

That would make sense. To be somewhat fair, the symbol was supposed to change, too, resembling a symbiote dragon more than a spider, though of course that changed over with Ewing and Ram V's run for whatever reason.
