I did not expect this to be the series where they bring up Natasha and Bucky's romance...with tragic results.

For as contrived as Bucky and Steve's feud seems, I at least understand why Steve and Sam seem to be throwing hands here. Steve is beyond emotionally compromised in that situation, and Sam needs to be the objective one. Which, in that situation, Steve wouldn't appreciate.

And that BuckyNat cover is STUNNING.

I'm impressed of 9 issues of straight Carmen Carnero with no break or fill in artist.
I love this cover. Peggy looks fantastic! I'm loving her presence in this book!

Oh yeah Marcus Fury is still a thing

Ah one of the more baffling cases of synergy. I know Ultimate Fury is the more popular incarnation but uh they did some bad stuff here.

They had a good idea with Marcus but just rushed it too fast.

The son of Nick Fury might've had something to it but trying to force him for movie synergy and make him look like Ultimate Fury did him no favors.

He could've looked like a younger Sam Jackson and used as an origin story for Nick Fury Jr. Have Sam's take on Nick being an older Marcus would've worked for me.

There were definitely better ways of integrating the character but the execution, timing, and role they went with just didn't service the character well.

Oh, yeah, what with Original Sin and all that. That said, since Reckoning War at least fixed the worst parts of that, with Uatu coming back from the dead and Nick Fury, Sr. no longer being bound to Earth's moon . . .

I wonder if it will happen if and only if the MCU version is gone. I just think Jackson has so much clout that the minute Sr. comes back you'll see news reports that "Nick Fury is being changed from black to white!"

I've just started reading both Cap series and am loving them. It doesn't feel overcrowded with two different characters holding the mantle as I thought it might and it sets up some really interesting dynamics, which look to be the main draw of the Cold War event. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
