Characters had actual personalities and lives back then compared to now when it's just moody heroics practically 24/7

Even Terra? And her very dated look?

It was good enough to get adapted into an animated movie .

Looks good to me. Starfire's outfit is dated by current conventions, but don't see anything wrong with Terra's 80s design.

Yeah, the one thing in the above you probably wouldn't do now are

    1) Devote that many pages to a non-plot scene, which is a shame.
    2) Beast Boys constant "Phwoah, eh? Look at 'em! You just would, wouldn't you?" interjections about his friends - which I could live without.

Beastboy is the most dated of them all in NTT. He'd be ripped to shreds nowadays with that cringy depiction.

One of the depictions I prefer in the cartoon is Gar. He played the comedian role better there than the 80s.

Also, I like Vic was allowed to be a little goofy in the cartoon, it did more of reminding me he is human than the "man-now-machine" angst. Although, it was missing his relationship with the Sarahs. Specifically, Sarah Simms and the kids they would mentor.
Currently Reading: DC v. Vampires / Batman: Urban Legends / Robin / Nightwing / Mister Miracle: The Source of Freedom

I may be getting TT confused with TT Go! but wasn't victor just skin (half a face) over a robotic body? I do know on Go his head kept coming off. It was all played for jokes but I didn't like it.
Anyway, how much of Vic was cyborgnic vs human in the 1st cartoon?

I might be wrong but I think in the first cartoon everything but most of his face and some biceps?

I meant more, along with the 70s/80s hair and style, the "hardcore psycho Terra that slept with Deathstroke" Terra. Animated Terra (both TT series and YJ) got far different and more understandable versions. The animated film toned it down, but got hit hard by those unfamiliar that it was toned down.

If DC truly believed the Titans to be taking the place of the Justice League, I would have thought the best place to start their book would have been off the hype of the end of Dark Crisis.
