Yupp. Probably...most likely.
The QC now doesn't exist so if after FoX there is still a Krakoa: Mutant Nation they would have to have a new and better government.

Loved this parallel. You could say, "Like mother, like son." (That's Nathan's choice, not Jean's imposition.)
From 𝑁𝑒𝑤 𝑋-𝑀𝑒𝑛 #121 (2002) and 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑉𝑎𝑢𝑙𝑡 #2 (2023):
Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):
"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
"Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged, Missing me one place search another, I stop somewhere waiting for you."
This unused concept art for Wanda and her growing darkness manifesting via her Crown becoming a part of her body has some Malevolent Marvel Girl Mask vibes to it. I can envision it being reverse engineered into a Hellfire Gala level look for Jean.

This has probably been posted before but I love this cover.

Cable is really following Jean's footsteps eh? The whole homage to the new x-men, with that tower thing. And the X-Men Red when Jean saved Rachel from Nova.
All the Cable discussion has been quite timely. This was posted in the X-Men '97 thread but not here yet.
The Goblin Queen will be appearing in X-Men '97. The question is if the Goblin Queen is a Jean clone created by Sinister or even Jean herself transformed into her. We know Jean was supposed to be pregnant but now I'm wondering if the big twist will be that Sinister replaced Jean with a clone and it's the clone that ends up pregnant.

I agree that it's definitely Nathan. Beau De Mayo said that Jean merchandise for the show would pop up in Wave 2 to avoid spoilers. Since this is our first "Jean" merchandise for the new show, I wonder if that's an indicator that in this series, Jean will become the Goblin Queen.
And I know we speculated on whether or not Jean will manifest her Phoenix powers in this show so I wonder if becoming the Goblin Queen (or facing off against her if she really is a clone) will possibly jumpstart her Phoenix powers without being possessed.
I don't think the story can work by just making Jean Grey the Goblin Queen. It would completely ruin INFERNO and what it was all about (The tragedy, horror, and anger of realizing to be a clone/brood mare for Mr. Sinister, etc.). Jean Grey just corrupted by a dark demonic force would basically redoing Dark Phoenix again.
So, let's see what will happen. Cannot wait to see Madeylne in the show!!!
I don't know, I think Jean somehow becoming the Goblin Queen after she already "became" the Phoenix before would feel too much like a déjà vu.
I prefer the idea of Sinister kidnapping the real Jean, replacing her with a clone to infiltrate the X-Men and getting pregnant with Scott's baby. Then upon the real Jean's return and the revelation she's merely a copy, the clone would lash out and become the Goblin Queen. Or something like this anyway, closer to the original Inferno.
Oh, I am well aware 2024 will be the Year of the Dragon...
It's funny, some of us Iceman fans spent years trying to figure when he would return as the Dragon, and Marvel going for real world synergy never even occurred to us.
I've said it before, the X-Men I know and love would be fighting AGAINST the ills of Krakoa, not perpetrating them. But these haven't been my X-Men for years.
The problem comes in when you have something portrayed in-authentically for a length of time, and then the fans of that in-authenticity come into conflict with the fans of the authentic. I don't think it's an issue of gatekeeping so much as it is a failure by Marvel to maintain the 'brand' of their characters and their franchise. The fans are just stuck dealing with it. Modern Marvel loves to generate conflict among the fans because that conflict generates interest. I remember when they use to have good stories for that.
Kneel before Zo-I mean Phoenix!
Ah, Jean Frisano. I posted a few of his covers over on ABP a while back.
His son Thomas does good work, too.
I don't want Jean to be(come) the Goblin Queen, I want a separate character.
This other character is the one who is pregnant, not Jean.
Somehow, Jean was kidnapped and held captive. Later, Jean figures out a way for her powers to free herself and then she confronts the Goblin Queen!
