I hate the changes. The belt is too thick and suddenly gets cut off at the bottom of the X for no reason . And why didn't they get rid of Wolverine and Cyclops's underpants if they wanted to change anyone's look to make them "modern." They should've left them alone or not called it X-Men 97 and just do e something completely different.
I'm thankful they updated Jean's 90s costume. I think their update really works, and improves the costume IMO.
I know that they won't, but I'd love if they ditched the blue power signature, and use Jean's iconic pink power signature. Save the blue for Xavier.

Bullshit. The belt on the new one looks fucking ugly and unfinished. The old one is basically the one from the comics. I don't give a **** about the boots or the color change. It's also fucking stupid for them to keep Wolverine and Cyclops in those diapers, and think that Jean's costume was the only one that needed improving.
The changes help, but that is undoubtedly one of Lees' worst designs. It's too bad he gave the green/yellow scheme to Rogue -- and then had to come up with something that didn't really suit Jean. That said -- the animated series made a bad design even worse.
It's fugly top to bottom. It's just what people remember watching a couple of times on TV 30 years ago.
At least the X-Men Red version of this costume colored the boots so the color layout is a bit better.
I will say that I am glad the '97 design ditched the cooch delineator down the center lmao
