Good lord, if nothing else Rachel's time as Phoenix was visually stunning. I always did like the nod Davis added by having the Phoenix Force appear to Rachel in Jean's form, that era Jean was still rejecting parts of that identity. Just wanted to share a revision of my look for Jean, which Grinning Soul was nice enough to help me refine last year.
I picture Jean wearing either one of these sets of patches or medallions on the sleeve or chest of an army or bomber jacket.
Here are some rough concept pieces.
Jean Grey in the words of Walt Whitman, from his masterpiece Leaves of Grass, "Song of Myself" (51 and 52):

Rod Reis' Jean was so good. One of my favorite artists for Jean in this era for sure.
