What I hate most about the current Ironfist situation, is what while I can get the logic behind a new Asian Ironfist legacy character. Making him Swordmaster is such a stupid decision on multiple levels.

In an attempt to save Swordmaster's flailing profile, they picked the worst way to create a legacy character.

Agreed. It’s weird that they erased the original identity of the Asian character instead of trying to improve his profile.
They could have chosen someone else as the new IF who didn’t already have their own codename and lore.
I’m still hoping Danny takes on a new identity as Dragon Brand or something.

At least Marvel seems to be just barely smart enough to not pull this crap with POC characters like Shang-Chi or T'Challa. Last thing we need is one of Marvel's already thin-on-the-ground POC male heroes toddler-walked through an adventure by their daughter because they've lost a step and need to be shown how to hero in the 21st century by the next generation...

I mean, BP’s solo spent two consecutive writer runs treating him as the bastard love child of Charles I/Louis XVI/Nicholas II and Batman’s early 00’s dickishness; to the point that he was overthrown, thrown under the bus by every other Wakandan character and banished under pain of death.

Dane’s recent mishandling at least had the basis that Marvel had to generally beat the ‘Everything to do with Arthuriana is fascist, reactionary and is the root of all Britain’s sins” to help ‘justify’ the X-Books take on Arthur as a skinhead over in Excalibur

Re Iron Fist, the bizarre thing is that Pei had been clearly marked as Danny’s probably successor for years before they depowered for for Okoye of all people briefly.

Pei's problem is she's a kid. Her peers would be Moon Girl, Crescent (one of the characters from New Agents of Atlas), the new Spider-Boy, and.... I honestly can't think of anyone else. She's just too young to be a solo superhero.

The dip in animation and story quality were mind boggling to me.

I know Assemble has its fans and I’m okay w. that, but EMH is the way better product imo.
