2022 really was a good year for storm doing a little reflecting by looking through some of the books from 2022 i got she was in. i mean say what you want about the marvels but i enjoyed the team and the art and writing was consistent. #7-12 came out last year.

There are some pretty blue cat eyes. In the red she kept her white pupils even when she shed tears.

They didn't even give themselves the importance of working on the manipulation of the Storm's energy, forces that are behind climatic phenomena such as electromagnetic energy and gravitational potential, with that they nerfed not only her but also Vulcan.

Yeah they dropped the ball on that one ngl. This could have easily been one of the biggest fights in xhistory. But it wasnt emphasized as such the power demonstrations were meh and the action was also meh. But the theme was consistent so we move.

The Omega Levels (not just Storm) are not being used accordingly...on a continuous or even regular basis. If they were there'd be no story to tell. Plain and simple. The lead writers...Gillenister, Duggan, Ewing and Spurrier are all using OL mutant at the centre of their books but...they're not writing the types of stories that would engage those OL powers on the regular. I can certainly see and understand why...but once the stories are engaging I'm not complaining.

In comparison, Clearmont didn't pull out Storm's big feats every other issue appearance, either. Those were very few and far between depending on the situation. And what "sold" those moments more than the actual feat itself would be Claremont's mastery of creating and explaining the scene in his own inimitable, grandiose way. If Claremont had written Storm creating the atmosphere for all of Arakko in PSXM 01 it would have read a thousand times bigger and far different than what Duggan gave us. This is in no way a slight against Duggan or Ewing it's just that they are not that kind of writer...and understandably so.

Gillenister certainly used Jean's powers very well in his AXE event...but then right after Duggan has her needing help to hold and contain a Child of the Vault. It is never going to be consistent and continuous across all appearances. On. A. Regular. Basis.
Just because Iceman can freeze time doesn't mean that he needs to do so every time he goes out into the field.

And he still got a beatdown and is currently encased in a Mysterium cocoon until whenever.
