As far as original non claremontian characters go I really like him and I think he has some staying powers, finally someone conceived to be fun and not just a token

I agree completely, he's made a strong impression and I can see why Gillen said he liked writing him for this issue. It's great that we'll be seeing him in the current timeline as well.

I think the artist made a mistake. Jon took off his cape to cover Ororo's corpse in the last issue. But in this issue he has his cloak again, and Ororo's body is gone. I don't expect Ororo to come back to life again, she's done her story in this timeline. Let the ironfire(and Rasputin）put an end to this.

Indeed! I was please to see him still alive and ready to open that family-sized can whoop a$$ on Essex! I am at a loss now. I get the impression there will be no true Dominion. For me Moira should get the chance control her own destiny here, and if she triggers the reset it feels so poetic. Especially if Sinister is getting choked out/neck snapped as it happens

Sincerely? we'll see more of the same, I'm not even creating expectations, it's not a compelling story, it's not a challenge, unless it explains how the storm's connection to the elements and forces of nature in this universe works, and show us what Storm is fully capable of.
