The only canon excitement on the known horizon for Romy is X-Men'97, supposedly still slated in 2024. Anxious for a hard date already!

Speaking of, has anyone seen this XTAS inspired beauty from Art of Lucas? I would read that romance novel. LOL

In other news, the Romy fanzine should be out by early Spring and fanworks week is in June. So keep the faith, Romy fans!
Heh, that piece feels so much like the cover for a romance novel. It wouldn’t surprise me if Remy and Anna is that couple who you just don’t see for a week and then find out they either went somewhere for an adventure or just stayed home never going out even for food.

I think for me the fanzine will be the big thing early 2024 and then the show. If the merch finds its way to stores near me I will definitely buy some, which I never do usually. Really like those small bag clips in mystery boxes. Got no use for them but I could see myself buying them anyway. Let’s hope they don’t show up for the sake of my wallet.

I’d love a romance novel, straight up, trope-filled, Hallmark Movie romance - with some ass kicking and explosions. I’d read one recently where I loved the premise, finding a missing stash of loot, casinos, escapes, car chases, getting tied up etc etc. sadly, did not deliver but something like that would be perfect for these two.

Why is FOX still going on in March? Sadly, none of the previews looked appealing to me. I’ll read XMen Forever, but no offense to Jean, Kitty, Emma - I like those characters fine - I’m just kinda tired of seeing them in everything. Not ready to write the new editorial off, we haven’t heard the new slate of writers yet. Hopefully Foxe stays on and we get some new voices in the bullpen.

Looking forward to the fan works! I can’t wait to see what you guys cook up.

The new Xtas Gambit doll is sooooo cute. I know I won’t be able to resist him.

    Dark X-Men #5 spoilers: spoilers:
there's a tiny Romy moment in it, a single panel where they reunite in the Morlocks tunnels and Rogue gets a line.
    end of spoilers

Didn't expect that. I certainly thought issue 4 was just a treat. Maybe Steve likes writing her?

Gambit had some great moments in this last issue. I loved to see him getting to be the clear hero in this scenario and helping rescue Carmen. The little Romy scene was pure icing on the cake.

I sure hope we get more of Steve handling Romy in future books. Marvel has been doing us right again with this title and the Love Unlimited series.

    Sigh ... Gerry Duggan ...

Like I guess it's fairly "in character" for Wade to continue being petulant and immature and trying to insert himself between Rogue and Remy in some way, but good lord am I over it. At this point it feels more like sour grapes from the writer than where Wade should STILL be coming from. Stop trying to make fetch happen, dude. Both characters have canonically moved on and so should you.

Also ... I'm not really fully buying that Rogue's powers work on that level of extremity. Are we saying EVERY body tissue she has manifests her absorption ability? Are we saying her level of invulnerable has now extended so far to being a living skeleton fully capable of speech like Logan?

Like I get it. It's sci fi and rule of cool. But I also appreciate characters having some limits to their abilities and this was over the top for me. It doesn't jive with other instances where far lesser situations have taken her out. I'm glad she * finally * got to have a big moment in this series. Truly I am! But it doesn't replace for me the lack of meaningful little moments throughout this book for her as a character, just as the same approach in his prior X-Men run didn't work for me.

I hate the new resulting hairdo. I'm glad to see a costume change, but that wouldn't have been my fallback first choice.

Duggan's whole thing has just felt like he's trying to reset Rogue to his Uncanny Avengers version of Rogue.

I'm glad she at least mentioned Remy vaguely in passing as she was on her way to almost dying. Literally the only crumbs we get of their relationship that are not negatively tinged by the obvious disdain of this writer.

Contrast this with the moments Steve Foxe gave us and the viewpoints of these different writers shows through.

Ready for July and Rogue out of Duggan's paws.

Yeah, I get that a lot of people really love how Duggan writes Deadpool, but I was sick of him before this issue and now I'm really done with him. It's just really weird how he is another writer who is so insistent on s***ing on a character who obviously has a lot of fans. And as a contrast, I thought Kelly bringing Deadpool into MMX for a couple issues was a nice olive branch to the ship and its fans. Now, I'll probably skip those issues when I do a re-read

The hair I can live with, honestly, but yeah, that costume is bad. I guess it could also be how it is drawn/colored in that book because the art in Uncanny Avengers is definitely not my cup of tea, but it's really not a good costume. There are so many other retro looks they could have gone with if they wanted.

Yeah, it was nice that Rogue got her one feat in this mini and the throwaway line about Remy was also nice. Knowing Duggan, though, he probably had to use static to censor it because she was probably saying "Tell Remy that I've always loved Deadpool more."

Anywayssss, hopefully July brings good things but I'm excited for X-Men 97 and the book Foxe is doing! Hopefully that will fill our cup in the meantime. And of course, the Fan Zine

Was Wade&Anna popular? Did anyone else than Duggan write them?

As someone who didn’t read UA back then it seems this scene was a throwback to something the rest of us had moved past, almost forgotten.

I loved that scene, personally. I just think it’s great that Rogue got such a ridiculously over-the-top and gnarly display of her power. Usually only the macho male characters recieve those moments of cool body horror.

They had a really sweet friendship in UA, one of the best things Duggan wrote for Rogue

Personally I love platonic Roguepool (but it would be better if creators who don't like Gambit showed a little more professionalism eh)

Plus it makes up for the times she was easily knocked out despite having Wonder Man's powers.

It made some headlines for about a week or two but it fizzled out, I think when Zub took over UA he was doing stuff with Rogue and Johnny Storm straight after.
Kelly Thompson was the only other writer to tackle it in MMX.

Btw, isn't Wade still in a relationship with Valentine Vuong?

From what I've seen posted elsewhere, he is still with Valentine.

    That part was okay.

...but the Gambit dissing though either Deadpool or Destiny (through Duggan's writing) has gotten beyond tiresome...and lazy.

Yeaah! It's so obvious it's ridiculous. What's worse is that Duggan is still writing Rogue and besides Remy as well, at least Deadpool isn't on the team.

So we're in for more shitty comments about Remy.
We can even vote on who will join the lynching. Kitty? Kurt? Logan? Duggan can put his comments about Remy in anyone's mouth.
