They are also putting Emma Frost in everything, Iron Man, whatever that thing with the Kingpin was, every single crossover, etc etc, so at least G&R aren’t singled out as being the only characters appearing in the larger MU like they’ve been cast off. But yes, they have major connections to significant characters on Krakoa which has so far been ignored. It makes more time to focus on important things, like how Emma feels about her clothing choices for the next Gala. I’m going to head canon that Gambit chose to be in the Otherworld or otherwise not participate on Krakoa to avoid Sinister, the OG Marauders, and the Morlocks altogether.
JDW says he doesn’t like Gambit involved with the Guild, which is fair, since it’s been the same story three times now - Gambit fights for his leadership role that he doesn’t even want. But I think it’s more likely they wouldn’t want to raise G’s importance or impact on any kind of scale. My evidence for that belief is that the best use they could come up with for him in the last 3 years was to be a corpse. If they have to leave the x-world to have any kind of showing, so be it! Though we’re still waiting for Rogue to show up in Captain Marvel, the author has taken the time to tell us what these characters are feeling based on their various connections to one another.
So with the recent revelation that Rogue finds feathered mutants extremely hot, do you think she's ever made Gambit wear a chicken suit or something during their fun time???
The solicit for issue 2 does sound a LOT better than the first issue's solicit. It really does sound like this could be a fun series. I love the idea of Rogue and Gambit having to hide someone from everyone else, doing something important for Krakoa for once, and interacting with the larger Marvel universe more. Lots of good stuff there potentially.
I do wish they had picked almost any Avenger other than Black Panther though. I like the character, but it really does sound like he is having a hard time and not being treated well in the comics at the moment and I want Rogue and Gambit to be able to outsmart and come out on top against an Avenger without that added context and nuance affecting the discourse.
Wow!!! I have to have it! It's so 90s( even aside from the shiny "90s" in the background lol)and I love it!

That variant is sooo good.
"Danielle... I intend to do something rash and violent." - Betsy Braddock
Krakoa, Arakko, and Otherworld forever!
It really is! I can't stop looking at it. It is bringing me right back to my childhood in the 90s. It is like one of the really cool looking cards or full page pin-ups from the backs of the comics in the 90s that I thought were so awesome(and still do) and brought such excitement to reading comics.
The 90s cover looks awesome!
... but I do wish Rogue's back was drawn not so exaggerated, it has Rob Liefield-esque no organs and I can't unsee it now. gambit too now that I look at it more, maybe an intentional reference? lol
I’m gonna go with it’s absolutely intentional, lol
Gambit’s a tiddle bit lipsy in this R&G variant.

It's a cute cover. Seems to confirm my suspicions that it is Rogue that saves Gambit from the Thieves Guild fighters. Man, though, I really, really hope this doesn't become a thing for Gambit after this mini where he becomes a barfly or gets drunk all the time. Writers often seem to latch onto stuff like this unfortunately. Hopefully this is just a one time thing. I don't want Gambit becoming like Boom-Boom.
