Interesting take above... Cable actually already defeated Apocalypse in the present, preventing the High Lord ascension and his rise to power that created the future he was raised in. So technically, Nathan has already won his war with En Sabah Nur.

Now... I'm assuming some animosity would still linger, considering he spent most of his life fighting against him and his evil. However, with Cable understanding that A) he's already prevented his dystopian future timeline and B) that Apocalypse being reunited with his family puts him on a very different trajectory (particularly if it's one that is beneficial to Krakoa's interests and mutantkind in general), then perhaps I could see him adopting a "live and let live" attitude towards his former mortal enemy.

Of course, I've not seen anything indicating "B" above... yet. But we'll see I suppose.

Yeah, it was a cool look that definitely modernized Nathan and made him more than just a "big guns and pouches" 90s relic IMO. Loved that run, and that look.
I know, right?! That run had many memorable moments.
Too bad Ladronn couldn't quite do every issue, but the fill-ins were equally-as-good (IMHO):

Three of my favorite characters... but written by Liefeld... meh. I actually don't mind his art but his writing is garbage IMO.

Ah screw it. I’ll probably buy it since it’s the only book Cable will appear in in June.

I agree about Liefeld, but I am also looking forward to this. Obviously Cable is my number 1, but I love Wolverine and Deadpool.

Yeah, I've always wanted to see those three together on an X-Force team. If they bring Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz back for Deadpool 3, as is rumored, that would be a pretty kickass squad. Throw in Olivia Munn's Psylocke too maybe?

Include Taylor Kitsch/Gambit, and you got yourself a deal...

I thought his taking the name “X-man” was pretty cool, but saw it more as stemming from his merger with XILO than anything.

Absolutely positively, I've wanted to see those 3 on a X-Force team. I'm looking forward to seeing them interact together. Should be fun.

Well, right now there's no confirmation that Cable or Domino will be in Deadpool 3, though there are lots of rumors that the plot involves Nathan's time travel (bodyslide) device. So it would definitely make sense for him to show up, even if just as a cameo.

Would love for his arm to look more like this in the film if he shows up, though...

    Very cool sketch.
