Hopping for something Extra Sized...
For at least a backup feature for the landmark issue, it would be amazing to actually have a tale where Carol has some interaction with the progeny of Mar-Vell (that has never happened on panel IIRC) and sits them down and gives them one of those "So..let me tell you about your Father..." moments.
For another backup, something of her catching up with Ultra Girl to re-establish that connection.

I think writers/artists just forget about the helmet.

Her power levels are all over the place.

She was featured in Mighty or New Avengers a number of years ago and she literally slapped the Avengers around (including Carol) without breaking a sweat.

These would be great story ideas, BUT......with #49 being an oversized wrap-up to the current storyline, do we REALLY think Marvel is going to do two oversized issues back to back??

I don't see anything wrong with the short hair. It makes her look different than Emma Frost or Susan Richards or Bobbi Morse or any other blonde-haired woman out there. And any haircut Carol has is forced onto her since she's a fictional character.
