Did writers just forget that Damian has pets? not just Pets but pets that have played parts in storylines or had their own one shots?

I get he doesn't have an ongoing but it's frustrating when DC builds aspects that a make a character feel fleshed out/unique and then turn around to tear it all down. They kept repeating the same mistake especially with the Bats.
