I'm hardly angry,it just baffles me how you can just dumb down his whole character in Evolution to "but mystique kicked his ass"
To each their own, I'm always going to like the character, I'm just not going to always like how he's being portrayed, just like he was in WATXM.

People don't like him this era because he's been pretty useless.

As far as the X-men cover, I think he might just have been taken during the gala, because I think when word goes out that he's been taken out, things will probably pop off. So no one has a chance to get to him, probably used to catch Jean off Guard for nimrod to swoop in or something.I'm guessing that issue is probably his rescue, or torture.

I think this whole gala thing is a way to get him off board in a meaningful way. The cover imo is to keep some of us from wondering too much where he is. Although it doesn't matter, I'm pretty sure he's going to be used as a plot device.

I was much more interested in the story of Cyclops, Emma and other characters on this show than the Logan leader. Logan couldn't help but be a nasty hypocrite.

I didn't simplify, I just gave an example. As I said before, I don't find Evolution's Cyclops interesting.

Wow, sounds like WATX Cyclops got a lot of good fighting screen time. I never watched it but reading this conversation has me wanting to.

It's an interesting version of Cyclops. The fight scenes and his friendship with Emma are great. The script sometimes tries to make Logan look better but Cyclops is still right(it's like reading an x-book from the 2010s).

Wow, I didn't have any expectations for Cyclops from X-Men 97 but it looks like he's doing really well there.

Who would say that Cyclops in a cartoon is better than in the current books.

The bar is kind of low to be honest. That being said, I'm not sure what the final product might be, but if the plan is to skip an overly complicated and terribly drama filled section of Scott's history, I'm all for it.

Might want to put a spoiler tag for that. Not sure it's something everyone wants to know prematurely as of now.

You could have left it behind a spoiler tag, though, as opposed to just erasing it.

X-Men's 60th anniversary and Cyclops don't even get a one-shot, just a issue where he is probably getting his ass kicked for a couple pages before it goes back to what I imagine will be the Kitty Pryde show.

I mean... You can't make this stuff up, right? Part of me is tempted to joke about Duggan/White being big fans of the Saw franchise, but it seems this is supposed to be a legit "Aniversary" issue or whatever, lol.

You forgot to mention Scott lying around and talking about how awesome Jean/Emma/whomever is.

    Gerry Duggan, the liar.

I already expected this to happen. Duggan made jokes belittling Scott on Twitter and deleted it before writing X-Men.

    That just makes it worse.

I thought he was great and had a perfect voice that fit the character. RIP Kirby Morrow. But I think Cyclops is the best when he's the serious boyscout with a moral code. Leading when Charles is not. And a faithful husband to Jean. I know that begs the Madelyne Pryor question. But I think it would be best to say that she was programmed to use her telepathy unconsciously to leave her in favor of Jean at the behest of Sinister and clean that up, so he was never back to being romantically involved with Jean until Madelyne went evil. And then we get to the Emma problem. Which never should have happened. But you could easily say that it was her doing and he didn't consent. She started off as a villain and should remain one. And then there were remnants of Apocalypse and Sentry's Void in his head. A lot you could chalk up to that. Either way, I think that's how he should be. But I would like to see him interact with his brothers more often. I know we saw him with Havoc and Vulcan when Krakoa started. And you know I really hate Krakoa. But I would like to see him interact with Adam too. Even though his genetic father is D'Ken and all. And you could say that he isn't Scott's actually brother and more a genetic brother, so I guess that they don't have to interact. But still, I think Scott reaching out could be fun. And maybe Corsair, even though he's not related to him. But Christopher still loves Katherine and I'd imagine that he'd want to connect. And more interaction with Cable is great.
