^^^Like, what Marvel villains would he fight?

Dr. Doom was pretty much a requirement back in the day.
Plantman could be someone’s flunkie or patsy.
    The High Evolutionary might work.
    Mole Man.
    And for sure Roxxon Oil!

^^^I loved Rom, and while I was excited to see him come back to comics a few years ago, I was simultaneously bummed it wasn’t MARVEL comics.

Only way ROM could return would be if Disney buys Hasbro. Or if Hasbro gave the license to Marvel again.
In the meanwhile ROM will be retconed into Ikon I guess, if they ever reference something with him involved.

I'm surprised Fu Manchu hasn't come up here yet.

I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

Or they could rename him spaceknight (his son used the name) give him a new robot mode and bring him back as marvel owns his human form and girlfriend and spaceknights. They owned the bad guy also but just gave them back to hasbro without a fuss. Guess they didn't see any use for them.

How about a 90s hero from a movie no one remembers? Wonder what he is doing in the mu today?

It does make you wonder where some of these guys are in the mu today. Also, what side were they on in civil war? Bet meteor man was on caps side and you know alf was on iron man's side! Not sure where human fly, micronuts or rom would have gone.

    ^^^Thats a good one.

I wasn’t happy when he was retconned out of being Shang Chi’s dad. Though I think that had less to do w. not being able to use him and more to do w. trying to be “politically correct”.

Kind of funny the Joes featured Rocky when Stallone's other famous 80's action hero starting with an R would be far more fitting. He even had his own cartoon and toy line!

The quote in the second half of Rocky's bio by Hawk reads almost exactly like something Richard Crenna's Col. Trautman would say.

^^^I read (somewhere) that when the deal fell through w. Stallone to have Rocky be a Joe, they went and turned the already made action figure into Big Boa (Balboa, ha!), and made him a Cobra operative.

Big Boa was supposed to be Rocky's rival. They actually did sculpt a Rocky figure, but it was never used.

Also, going back to Marvel. Rocky had a profile in a marvel handbook of GI Joe and even is seen on the back cover. (The likeness isn't good, which makes me wonder if they had the rights to Stallone's looks or not). The very next issue they retracted it and said that Rocky had never been a member of the team.

Also in that issue is another non-Marvel non-G.I. Joe owned member of G.I. Joe. Sgt. Slaughter.
