Rokk is an ******* and an idiot. I only ever check the numbers and completely ignore his rantings which are uninformed to put it mildly. Don’t take his analysis seriously. I also was listening to a writer on a podcast interview the other day and he flat out said that the ICV2 and Comicron sales rankings aren’t accurate at all. You have to keep in mind that their sample size is about 200 stores out of the 2000 that exist, so it’s not a good sample size. I think the top 10 is usually somewhat accurate but anything outside of that probably isn’t.

Good to know about Rokk
Also sounds like they're doing more re-writes for Blade. I feel like I'm in the minority, but I'm comfortable with all the re-writes if it keeps them from putting out a bad movie. I'd be more worried if I heard they were in a rush to put it out.
Not loving the fill in artist (seems like they're splitting the series) but love that this issue continues to push ahead

With the way ICV2 tracks sales, it's likely it didn't make the charts because it didn't sell enough during the month get-in.
ICV2 is tracking actual PoS purchases, so if a title comes at the end of the month, it will be at the end or not even on the charts at all.
In the past, we had orders to retailers but that isn't the case anymore.
And Comicbookrevolution is full of sh!t, they are very down on minority characters and creators.
That is a person who does not READ the books and ONLY looks at rankings.
The same person who has issues with POC writers and books. Especially issues with Dr Eve Ewing. Same person who has blamed certain POC for the state of certain books. Even IF they don't appear in them. Nubia can't hurt Wonder Woman's book when she hadn't appeared in it in 5 years.
That is one of the folks that rile up the usual suspects.
Yes ALL books will change rankings each moth when
1) you get NEW titles coming out.
2) The variants change each month. If you cut out all variants at BOTH companies-the drops are not that high on most titles.
3) Most drops are due to stores ordering less extras that sit on the shelf. In other words if I KNOW I will get 25 sales of Blade. I am NOT going to order more than say 27-30 copies.
Marvel on the other hand WANTS a store to order 50 copies and could careless it leaves 25 unsold copies.
Marvel ONLY cares about PRE ORDERS. Eve Ewing herself pointed that out. She is NOT the only one who has said that.
Ooooh I'm loving this book.
Great pacing of forward momentum with good action, with Blade being a brutal mofo.
Its damn fine to see him in tip top shape in his own ongoing.
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
Everything else is irrelevant.
This book is non-stop! I was thinking that each of the last issues could've been a 6 issue arc, but we're blazing right through them. I appreciate it because the pay offs are quick which I think works really well in the comic format. Like I know each issue is going to be packed.
I do think they oversold the level of threat for this issue, because all things considered it wasn't all that difficult for Blade to get the sword. The next issue should be dope though
I dug the Predator esque vampires. Looking forward to the final showdown next issue!

Yeah, I also like how we are getting little side build up with other non vampire things. I feel there's so much to build Blade into a fighter of the supernatural on top of vampires. Let's see a slow, logical expansion of Blade's universe similar to what I feel Al Ewing was doing in Might Avengers. Based on what we're getting I hope they give Hill more work. Would to see what he could do completely different kind of character.
That scene with Blade running through the vampires and then them bursting into flames was excellently designed. I read all issues back-to-back and it's such an exciting series

Is this the first time Blade's used magic?
The first time I saw it was in that anime, but... a scene just like that was EXACTLY what was in my mind when I titled the thread.
Guy has the chops to get out there and do A LOT more... I mean its not like he didn't use the darkhold etc.
Writing a few things in there like that are just right.
