But seriously, I've wondered if Gaea may have held deep resentment at not raising Thor. I think the original story was that she reached an agreement with Odin that Thor be raised strictly Asgardian but I don't remember why. This may be her opportunity to 'mold' him. The shadow gods remind me of meddling older relatives who always seem to know what's right for you and are constantly interfering in your life. Great first issue. This is the type of characterisation I’ve been wanting to see in years for Thor.
There’s too many things I want to say, but others have already said them.
I will say that the comments by Ewing about Thor in the letter’s page are spot on.
He should be on another level to other superheroes and not be a conventional superhero as people see them.

This first issue was great, i think i like the conclusion Ewing had in the letter page. I love Thor the most when he smiles. For years Thor and Thor stories have been... depressing... I think it's time for a shift, it's time for Thor to be rid of Aaron and sore to new heights as a character.
