With the aquaman reveal, i really wanna read some great ass aquaman runs. What recommendations do you guys have?

I prefer when he and Mera are the rulers but I hope it will at least be explained how they're back in power.

The Peter David run in the 90's is really good but long. That's a good one for the bearded, harpoon-hand version of the character. For a modern but more classic looking Aquaman I recommend the Geoff Johns/Ivan Reis run at the beginning of the New52 era. Last one I'll recommend is the Sub Diego era which gave us the second Aquagirl. With early Patrick Gleason art this is one of my favorite runs and it doesn't get talked about enough. There are 3 collections covering that era.

I loved the pulpy feel to the team as well. And a shirtless and moody Aquaman in the flashbacks was a nice addition.

Yeah its a cool setting to lean into for Aquaman. I would love if the next movie setting or something were to take some inspiration from this.

Disappointed that the early rumors that Dolphin would be brought in to fill some of the void of the role of Mera in "THE LOST KINGDOM" being diminished were unfounded. I guess they beefed up Atlanna instead?
Was looking forward to seeing what Director Wan might have done translating why favorite Forgotten Hero to the screen with his lens for weirdness...

Atlanna was barely beefed up. About as much screentime as Mer with just more lines
