Wonder Family - Who Are Your Ideal Members?

Okay, so I love a BIG family of characters involved with one another. (It’s one reason I love the extended Batfamily.)

Depending on what’s going on in continuity, my picks are:

Steve Trevor - Pilot, super spy and Diana’s paramour.
Etta Candy - Diana’s best friend and confidant in Patriarch’s World.
Donna - Diana’s adopted sister.
Cassie - Diana’s young protégé and Wonder Girl.
Hippolyta - Diana’s mother and former Queen of the Themysciran Amazons.
Philippus - A mentor of Diana’s, the General of the Amazon army and Royal Guard, and Hippolyta’s partner.
Nubia - Former Amazon Contest winner, champion of Doom’s Doorway and current Queen of the Themysciran Amazons.
Artemis - Champion of the Amazons of Bana Mighdall.
Mala - Themysciran Amazon and Diana’s best friend growing up.
Yara Flor - Amazon of the Esquecida and Wonder Girl.
Io - Amazon smith, warrior, friend to Diana and Nubia’s partner.
Fury - Lyta Trevor, Diana and Steve Trevor’s daughter from another Earth and/or timeline.
Ferdinand - Minotaur friend of Diana’s.
Warkiller - The reborn hero Achilles, with divinely-gifted powers and Diana’s friend.
Siggy - Siegfried, warrior of myth, and Diana’s friend.
Atlantiades - Child of Aphrodite and Diana’s friend.
Wonder Boy - A new hero taking up the Wonder mantle.
Trevor Barnes - UN advisor and friend of Diana’s
Andros - Diana’s extraterrestrial friend.
[REDACTED] - A new team of heroes inspired by Diana.
Justice League - Diana’s friends and teammates.
Titans - Donna’s friends and teammates, many who Diana have known since they were teens.
Teen Titans & Young Justice - Cassie’s friends and teammates.

I always feel like Diana is never short on love in her life. She has an extended family of sisters, mentors, teachers, friends and supporters among the Amazons.

On Patriarch's plane, she has her sister Donna, her sister Nubia, Cassie, and Artemis (I suppose the jobber Amazon introduced in new poopy-2 as well if she is alive and not busy jobbing). Then there are her numerous mortal friends from cosmonauts to fast food workers to police officer to icons like Steve Trevor Etta Candy Bobby Barnes and the adorable Becca Doherty.

Then there are her professional peers in the League and other adventures.

I feel like she makes and maintains many quality friendships. And depending on whatever continuity is decided on Hippolyte and the Goddeses of Olympus and other pantheons

This is how I see her relationships too and would love to see the Wonder world built out this way.

I'll admit this thread kind of confused me. The OP asks who would be Diana's primary allies in a crisis, but a lot of people seem to just be listing their preferred supporting cast, which is what I did.

What exactly constitutes "Wonder Family"? If we're calling Steve or Etta or Julia part of the Wonder Family, does that mean Perry White is counted as Super Family?
I guess it's kind of a gray area.


But, going back to my post and the OP, in a major battle situation, my ideal allies for Diana--as in, who's in the fight by her side--I'd say for me Nubia, Artemis, one or two Wonder Girls (they swap depending on the situation), and Achilles. That would be my core crew.

As for Cheetah...I counted Barbara as in she was part of the crew before she turned. Same as Vanessa before she became Silver Swan. Afterward, they're enemies...although there can be situations where they might put aside their differences against a common foe.

I feel similarly. They might align in an uncomfortable truce in some situations, but I don’t see Cheetah being Diana’s ally. If anything I need to see Barbara Minerva be even more villainous.

Exactly. Any benefit of the doubt that Diana would give Barbara would likely be met with betrayal. She'd play Diana like a fiddle until she made her believe she had reformed only to slash her back with her razor-sharp claws and a smile on her face.

End result of most "superhero families" largely overtaking/replacing civilian supporting casts in superhero comics as the supporting casts, most likely.

I can't speak for Cheetah but I recall Hercules achieving some redemption in the post-COIE series.

Not really, it didn't stick. Hippolyta forgave him, it looked like they'd be a couple, then he went undercover as Harold Campion to seduce Diana. After that he bothered Cassie and eventually became a full on villain again.

In Rebirth he was killed by Grail before he and Diana could form a sibling relationship but he left her some property when he died.
