When Cass was introduced, David was easily the worst, simply due to the fact that he heaped the most abuse on her. Shiva was an absent parent, who killed Cass once and would have done so again.

In the Young Justice cartoon, we never see David, and Shiva was the one who scarred Cass and decided to remove her ability to speak.

In current canon, Cain is dead and Shiva seems to want a positive relationship with Cass

She iirc left her with Cain as Payment for Training or something like that.

Honestly I find it pretty hard to tell who was worse pre flashpoint, cain how seemed at least to care for a Cass in his twisted way, or Shiva who didn't seem to care about her at all, beyond fighting her to the death.

I guess either becasue they want to write her more redeemable and to as a complete psycho or sociopath.Or because the writers/editors have only read tumbler fanfic and not the actual comics.

Honestly don't want to see Cassandra get killed two to three times for Mother Soul's stupid plan.

Is good Shiva a tumblr thing?

I don't know a lot about Shiva, but I remember she was an anti-hero/ant-villain in Birds of Prey by Gail Simone.

That said, Shiva being a worried mother who knows a lot about Cass seems to be totally new. There were hints that Shiva cares about Cass in her Batgirl run, but Shiva still tried to kill Cass in a duel.
