Anyways, apparently DC announced plans for a Static movie and a John Stewart focused GL series. We will see how it goes.

I would have to dig further in my Netflix files for others. There is one from African but I am blank on the name.

Honestly I saw Tenet as an action film. It's James Bond meets Predestination. It's more stars aren't being made the same way anymore. Marvel and other franchise are star makers and outside of franchises stars aren't formed as much as they used to be.

So the MCU is more geared to build up minority representation than the comics as they are less niche.and nostalgia driven.

So I'm just hoping they get better at it.

    Triple 9

Since I saw it in a theater, I can vouch for that it had a theatrical run.

SO Marvel was scared of a certain segment taking issue with the book.

Meanwhile they have no issue with what is being done to T'Challa.

The book is still listed on the Marvel website.

To be fair, the Luke Cage book is dealing with a real world issue/tragedy. It's not comparable to a fictional character being written poorly at all.

I think the Luke Cage mini cancelation deserves its own thread. I’m not starting it, I am just saying.

Also, CBR here has a nice piece on it:

An interesting analysis of Falcon and Winter Soldier specifically and black superheroes in general. I disagree with certain things though...this idea of being disappointed that certain characters aren't more "revolutionary" in their criticisms of the system and she doesn't deal with the fact a lot of these characters were created canonically as part of the so-called military industrial complex. This isn't Disney getting conservative with the characters, it was already built into them.

Also, I'll admit I didn't see the whole show, but I thought the Karli Flag Smasher character was supposed to white?

"Right-wing nuts" is the kind of excuse I'd expect. It doesn't say much for Marvel's integrity in yielding to this apparent boogeyman, and is awefully conspicuous after all the virtue signaling self-back-patting the company's done in the modern era.

No, I think the truth is more like Jessica Gao waking up to the substandard She-Hulk series she'd created and spinning it as her "trolling the trolls" all along. I think the folks in charge of this Cage mini were more worried about comic fans across the political spectrum picking apart whatever content was being laid out.

No, I think it was more so that they were, as always in this industry, catering to the delicate sensibilities of people like you.

If they always catered to "right-wing nuts", then the modern-day political crud you praise Marvel and the MCU for are what "right-wing nuts" have wanted. Just think before you talk.
