Haha I had exactly the same reaction re what you were angry about....I had to keep telling myself trust in Ewing, trust in Ewing...

Jan has always been one of my favourite Avengers, I'm glad she's FINALLY getting some awesome spotlight again!

It's obvious that Ewing really appreciates her and her history, I think we are gonna get a really good story out of this and hopefully Jan's prominence will be restored.

McKay used Tigra's detective background in an issue of Moon Knight volume 4. So I thought would be interesting to have Tigra pop up in a future issue of Avengers Inc.

Indeed. The relationship between Jen and Greer is an interesting one given that Greer was the first woman that Hank Pym had a serious relationship with after his split with Jan (it was implied he'd hooked up with Alice Nugent, but that clearly didn't amount to much), and Greer eventually was the one he sort-of had a child with. All of that is rather ironic given that Tigra was also the only other woman on the active Avengers roster when Hank had that breakdown leading to his court-martial, his domestic violence assault of Jan and the resulting divorce--and at the time Tigra was firmly on the side of supporting Jan and dismissing Hank as a "creep" and a "rat". Clearly she changed her mind once she got a chance to know him better--and when he was in a more stable state of mind.

Anyway, back to Jan...she and Tigra have been friends over the years, but with the occasional bit of friction or tension due to low level jealousy about Hank. It would be interesting to get a chance to see where things stand between them these days.

I thought the art team really fumbled the debut. IDK if it's Kirk or Sinclair, or the dreaded deadlines, but many scenes looked drab, muddy, and lifeless, particularly in the first half.

Agreed. Art was not great. I think it did diminish my liking of the book, and that’s not common for me.

As far as storyline goes, if this were another writer I’d have concerns about about Jan and Vic being romantically paired. Luckily we have Ewing.

Given that Vic is inhabiting the corpse of Jan's stalker, that would be incredibly squicky.
    Wanna make somethin' of it?

I thought the art was fine, but I think someone like Greg Smallwood would kill it on a noir book like this.

Definitely! However, I don't foresee a long life for this title, and would like to see Tigra in a solo vehicle for a change.
