None whatsoever that I know of. Al Ewing is British and Eve Ewing is American.

I had the same reaction. The other possibility is they'll reveal some sort of Kree heritage for her.

I hope not, only because they already did that with Carol. But it'd fit. Either way I'm glad to have her backstory expanded upon more, I'm enjoying the series even if Eve Ewing's dialogue can be a little clunky.

I agree, the Kree thing would unnecessarily tie Monica to Carol imo when they've never needed to be tied more than by similar superhero names.

I like them as soul sister types. Uber powerful, Avenger-leading, but still not getting the respect they deserve and feeling constantly compelled to fight for it.

Agreed -- they are tied together by shared history and mutual respect -- their origins don't need to do that for them.
