Default Fathom. is the old comic book series any good?

Back then in the 1990s i never had the time or luxury to buy and read an issue of Fathom. i was more into Spawn basically.

Just wondering if Fathom is any good to read or were they copying the hot babe thing which Witchblade was doing at the time?

Fathom is good. I found it held up as far as 90s era stories go, especially if 90s art is not a problem. I would say at least read the first volume. If you proceed beyond that, find a wiki that explains what comes next because it spins off a lot titles.

The first volume is better than most of the other "hot" late 90s Image Comics most which are now forgotten, IMHO it's slow paced story takes a long time to set up the world it takes place and it has a basic premise of "what if Aquaman and/or Namor was a hot surfer girl?", and it's been a while since I read so it maybe not as good as some of current comics, and might have aged well. So your mileage may vary. If you like volume 1 and want to continue reading Fathom comics beyond volume 1 you will need a scorecard and a wiki to keep up with all the sequel mini-series and spin-offs that are still going on today under Aspen Comics. Also if you might want to refer to the series as Michel Turner's Fathom in search engines to avoid any confusion with the two Fathom mini-series that were a spin-off from The Elementals published before Micheal Turner was an artist in the early 90s by a different company and Turner's series is NOT part of or a reboot of The Elementals or their version of Fathom. Different characters. Different universes.

However, the Elementals is a WAY better series than Turner’s Fathom was.

If you want to find something to read, dig those up, not Turner’s Fathom.

Of course, Turner’s story is terribly sad. R.I.P. But despite his tragic death, his comic just wasn’t that great.

There were at least 4 The Elementals Sex Specials that are more or less porn comics. The main series is a mature reader series.

I've read so many Fathom comics (thanks, Humble Bundle!) They're always good, but that first volume with Michael Turner's art is fantastic. I think I stopped right before the Ron Marz run, so it's been a bit.
I still miss Renee Montoya. Oh, and I'm a dude.
