A very old time reader. My first Avengers books were around the mid # 40s in the '60s.

I do indeed love the Uncanny Avengers and that whole story line. I keep thinking someday something will be done about Kang stealing Havok and Wasp's daughter.

But most of the teams I liked were when Jan or Wanda or both were on the team.

I also liked the short era (around those # 40s) when Jan, Hawkeye and Hank

    were the Avengers. Only them.

The late 70s Avengers team written by Gerry Conway and followed up by Jim Shooter with art from the likes of Sal Buscema, George Perez and John Byrne.

    Iron Man (leader)
    Captain America
    Thor
    Vision
    Scarlet Witch
    Beast
    Black Panther
    Wasp
    Yellowjacket
Wonder man {not a official member but still accompanied the team on their adventures)

Fighting the likes of Atuma, the Sub Mariner, Dr Doom, Graviton, Ultron, The Lethal Legion, Court Nefaria and leading up to Korvac, this was probably my favourite Avengers run

Agreed. This is the ultimate Avengers lineup for me.

I enjoyed most of the pre-Bendis Avengers lineups though.

    Nice.
Larger than my pick but a great period. 12 Avengers? I am fine with fewer.

Agreed, especially when Pym became Yellowjacket & before Hawkeye became a giant...

Oh, you mean becoming an honorary member? Yeah, Rick Jones started it all. It's now become a tradition...

To the utmost, I agree! Too bad Clint couldn't be there, since he was busy helping The Two-Gun Kid acclimate to the present-day...

My favorite was the 200-250 era. Cap, Thor, Wasp, Captain Marvel (Monica), She Hulk, Hawkeye, Starfox, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Beast. It also had a lot of other dropping in here and there like Tigra, Black Knight, Wonder Man, and others.

    Peak Avengers for me personally.

In the opinion of many, the definitive Avengers line-up. I can think of a few more to add.

    Peace

Avengers Annual #17 is perhaps my favorite single Avengers issue, and the offbeat line-up sure has a lot to do with it. The Captain, Falcon, Hercules, Beast, the female Yellowjacket (in her solo outing as an Avenger, before being shipped to the future, to join the GotG and then, later, to be killed in the Crossing), the Hulk (the smart and mean grey version) banding together to rescue Jocasta and save the Earth from the High Evolutionary. I sure would have enjoyed seeing more of such a line-up.

    Peace
