Thanks. Loved how he was able to sneak in a couple members just to exceed that 6-member limit...

Such a good line-up! For me personally, Avengers Forever ties with Hickman's Avengers as the best lineup.

Fair, but their take on Wasp was so awesome that you almost forget about it .

I have to go with the Busiek Perez Heroes Return era. A good solid classic base of characters with some nice new additions that made sense and didn't feel forced and a steady amount of characters rotating in and out.

Nobody said Secret Avengers don't count.

Main Team Roster-wise I like Bendis New Avengers line-up, especially post Civil War.

My favorite is circa Avengers #329. Probably because that's when I started reading the series.

For me it was the Stern era, Cap, Thor, Iron Man, the Wasp, She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Captain Marvel and/or Starfox. Vision, Wanda, Hercules, Namor, and the Black Knight. Everything pre-#300. The Masters of Evil and Zeus stories being my Top Two of all time..and the Buscema/Palmer art team takes me right back to 1985-1988-ish…

Another good line up, but they were so OP they might as well have been the Justice League literal gods

^^^I've always liked it better when the JLA mirrored an Avengers dynamic than the other way around.

^^^Morrison’s run started off strong, and he treated the Big Seven really well. Very epic. A lot of his storylines felt flat to me though, w. boring wrap ups, from Prometheus getting taken out by shot to the nards, to the Mageddon ending especially.

Ah, so good. Both creators at the top of their game.

So true. EMH's Wasp was one of the best takes on the Wasp I've ever seen. But I wish they hadn't terned the Widow "evil" right off the bat.

They do count. All Avengers line-ups count, not just the most "Avengery" ones. But keep in mind that the title of the thread is "What was the best Avengers line-up you've ever read about?" So it's not just about line-ups with heroes that you like, nor runs that you liked. It's about a team that had characters you liked and that got to have stories that you liked. Meaning, not only did it have potential, got got the chance to live up to it.

Actually, the Legion of Super-Heroes were the templates for Hickman's Avengers, so it's literaly worse than that.

    Peace

Anyone remember the Cosmic Avengers from the second volume of What If? Not one of my favorites since they only showed up that one time but I remember, when I read that story, that I wanted to see more of this team.

    Avengers led by Monica

Avengers led by Sersi and Black Knight

    Force Works

Avengers Machine with focus on new or lesser known characters

Secret Avengers led by Steve, and Hawkeye.

New Avengers with Strange, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Ms. Marvel (good old Carol)

LMAO, that's a perfect way to describe Morrison, BatGod thinks of everything but if all else fails a shot in the nards will suffice
