    ^^^YES.
    I miss comics being fun.
Shazam is a character that lends itself to a more lighthearted tone, while still bringing in serious themes and storylines.

Question of the Day: Should Billy Batson be African-American?

Putting aside the politics of "race bending", I see pros and cons:

Pro: more minority representation, and you'd have a non-White powerhouse.
Con: would be too similar to such characters as Black Lightning, Vulcan and Static Shock in some ways.

But suppose this was done anyway. You'd still have the "original" Marvel Family on Earth-5, not to mention the fact that you still have the Elseworlds.

Beyond that, you could streamline the series, with Billy being directly related Teth-Adam (the same with Malik being a direct descendant). And Billy would have been chosen, like Malik, to redeem the family line. Would the magical sextet need to be changed? Eh, it could go either way, though an African-based magical sextet would be interesting to see developed.

Oh, and, of course, the name of this version would be "Captain Thunder", in homage to what Roy Thomas wanted to do.

Keep in mind that I am not advocating any change; I would prefer that DC would just do a good SHAZAM! series.

I think Malik, heir to Black Adam (got to get that new title in there), will fit in just fine with the Shazam family.

They pair her with Billy and Freddy, but not with Mary?

Of course, in New Champion of Shazam #4, a journalist almost gives Mary Kamala's codename!

Ironically he’s the least experienced but the oldest out all of them. Malik is a med student so he’s got to be early to mid-20’s easy, being a few years older then both Mary and Billy.

Literally Mary finds him at work. By the way for those not in the know, that picture on his phone is not his kid. It’s his nephew and sister. Thought I’d clear that up just in case.

Is the Marvel Family more powerful than the Shazam Family?
