    Default Questions regarding Sentry-Hyperion-Gladiator-Thor

    Hello,
I am relatively new to Marvel (I knew the Avengers, Thor, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, X-Men...but not much more).

    So I have some questions:

    1 THOR:
    A) Which PERMAMENTLY powers beside Superstrenght, Durability etc. does he have?
    I mean permament powers.
Like for example can he also throw Lightning without Mjölnir or use other kind of energy blasts?

    2 SENTRY:
    A) Is Sentry like Superman, someone who always have powers or is he like Shazam/Hulk etc. someone who must transform into another being to use powers.
    B) Was it ever shown to which degree he can use Photokinesis? (I am asking this, because if he could use red Sun-Energy, then he could use this as weapon against Superman, who is vulnerable to red sun)
    C) Does Merged Sentry can also use the powers of the Void?

    3 HYPERION:
    A) Is Heat Vision and Atomic Vision the same ability?

    4 GLADIATOR-SENTRY-HYPERION:
    A) Are the 3 all sun-dependent like Superman (and if so-does it matter which color does the sun have?)
    B) Is one of the 3 here in a current Comic-Series?
    C) Do they have girlfriend/wife?
(I know that Sentry was married to Linda, but did he also have other Love-Interests?)
(Hyperions Love-Interests were Power Princess and Thundra right?)
    D) Do Gladiator, Hyperion have super-powers which Superman doesnt have?

This is an amazing resource for Marvel comic fans. Gives detailed histories, powers and citations on what comic the details come from.

    https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Marvel_Database

    Thor: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Thor_...616)?so=search

    Sentry: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Rober...616)?so=search

Hyperion: (He is a little tricky as there are so many variants of him in 616) https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Hyperion?so=search

    Gladiator: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Kalla...616)?so=search

And because he is in that same class of "Marvel's Superman":

    Blue Marvel: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Adam_...ar_(Earth-616)
All I wanted was to be unconditionally loved while never having to work on my flaws. Is that so much to ask?

Thank you-but I read these pages and most of my questions still remain:

1.) For example is the Sentry like Clark always in his Superhero Form or does he have to say a Codeword like Shazam or transform like the Hulk?
I am asking that because in the fight against Hulk, I read once that Sentry and Hulk BOTH transformed back to their human forms.

2.) Another example is Thor-can he also control Lightning WITHOUT Mjölnir? How powerful is the Cosmic Pyrokinesis?

3.) Why is Hyperions Heat-Vision called ATOMIC VISION and not Heat Vision?
Is it just another name or is it different from generation pure Heat?

4.) Gladiator doesnt need Solar-Energy or?
I didnt find that on his page.

5.) Superman is vulnerable to red sun-is Hyperion also vulnerable to other sun-colors?
Its only written that he needs sun, BUT not if it has to be a special sun like Superman needs.

6.) I also didnt find if Gladiator/Hyperion/Sentry are in relationships or not.
-Sentry was married-but he also seemingly was close to Rogue, like I read in the issue of his funeral
-I saw Hyperion together with Power Princess and Tundra, but I dont know if he was in a relationship with them or if he is in a current relationship or not
-Gladiator has a son, but I couldnt find who his mother is and if Gladiator is in a relationship or not

In the early days, he directed lightning without Mjolnir, but more often than not, it was with Mjolnir. He also did an AoE energy strike on Durok in the Avengers Assembled story from a few decades ago. Again, he doesn't often do that. Which is to say, that is the only time I recall him pulling that one. You will find <not here, but on> Rumbles threads? He is board ruled with bullet timing reflexes. So, a measure of super speed, super strength, and super durability.

Powers always be on for Bob Reynolds.

I wasn't aware that he had that power? He cut loose against Genis-Vel in the microverse, which energy exchange was enough to be seen by eyes in normal universe. <On Rumbles>, he is considered a multi planet buster, IIRC. He is considered in the neighborhood of "punks heralds of Galactus".

I believe so? I remember a mini by Jeff LeMire. Likely, your answer is there. Also, he was merged for a span in the latest Annihilation (Scourge) mini.

There are different Hyperions, which I am not at all that familiar with. Might want to research that one, specifically by versions.

    Gladiator, no.

Sentry...sigh. His powers are...the worst defined super powers ever. But I will go largely with no.

Hyperion? Don't know my Hyperion that well, but I don't believe so?

I don't think any of them are currently.

Bob did at one point, Lindy? I think that ended though. Gladiator and Hyperion, I don't believe so.

Apparently, Crystal from the Inhumans and him had a thing.

Sounds like know more than I do on Hyperion.

<On Rumbles> Gladiator is considered on par with (post-Crisis) Wally West Flash in terms of reaction speed. Hyperion...I don't believe so.
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

Squadron Supreme Hyperion had a Lois Lane analog named Lonni Lattimer.

She actually dated Hyperion in his civilian identify as Mark Milton. I believe she debuted in Avengers 147 -- only seen in one or two panels suntanning on a rooftop when the Avengers fly over. Marvel Fandom lists her first appearance as Thor #280 which featured both Hyperions of Squadron Supreme and Sinister.

    Wasn't Gladiator an ex-love of Lilandra's, Shi-ar empress?

    Yes, they are analogous.

Not to get too scientific here, but there are lots of ways to create heat. Think of heat vision and atomic vision as two different methods of creating a similar result. Fire/plasma (heat vision) can generate heat, but so, too can the release of splitting/colliding elementary particles or the kinetic movement of subatomic particles (atomic vision). There are also forms of electromagnetic particles which generate heat, like microwaves. And don't get me started on chemical reactions, which can also generate intense heat.

In Hyperion's case, he is Marvel's version of Superman. His team, the Squadron Supreme, is basically Marvel's Justice League. For obvious reasons, Marvel had to slightly tweak the homage, or risk getting sued by DC. So instead of "heat vision", they called Hyperion's power "atomic vision." As where Superman gets his power from the "yellow" sun and hyper-photosynthesis, Hyperion gets his powers by virtue of being one of the handful of Eternals whose powers are derived from cosmic energy. (This part of Hyperion's origin came decades after he was first created.) Like Superman, Hyperion even has a vulnerability to a rare chthonic isotope (called argonite, instead of Kryptonite).

While there are many Superman clones in the Marvel Universe, none of the others parallel Superman quite like Mark Milton does...except for Gladiator, who was penned to be the Superboy to Marvel's version of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the Imperial Guard.

Hyperion was an Eternal in at least one reality, which brings Ikaris to mind as someone else to include in the Marvel-Superman set...

Gladiator's power levels are based around his confidence if memory serves... basically, the more arrogant he gets, the stronger he becomes
