This one for me
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Nowadays this change in creative team/direction would’ve warranted a relaunch, but 19 is Grant Morrison’s first issue of his classic Doom Patrol run.

The first issue of THE TICK was perfect imho.
From how we find our hero on the very first page, to his inner monologue throughout, to the immediate skewering of superhero tropes of the time, to the main plot, to the “cliffhanger” ending this issue never let up.
And the art, well, the art was deceptively layered. Simple, cartoonish, and detailed by turns, w. all sorts of seemingly random things going on in the background. I remember it was the first time I was introduced to Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks painting…
…which has been homaged to death yeah, but in 1988 at the age of 20, I personally had no idea what I was looking at but, I knew it was something; it wasn’t random.
Anyway, a perfect first issue.
The majority won't agree, but my next choice would be...
Invincible Iron Man
(2015)

Very well, I meant no offense. For a palette-cleanser then, my next choice will be...
Iron Man
(1998)
^^^No offense taken, K7P5V!
And as to the 1998 Iron Man series? NOW we’re talking!
GREAT first issue, a long time coming for Tony fans. A great writer who knew what made Tony tick, a dynamic artist, a return to the status quo…but not quite! That issue really set things up for a stellar (and not talked about much) run for Iron Man. I was very excited after reading it.
All that and Rumiko Fujikawa, Tony’s best love interest ever!
Not one, but two issues I would say, after rereading it. Battle Chaser 1 and 2.
