Kind of surprised no one is talking about the Loki mini. I thought Dan Watters and German Peralta were really killing it, personally. I know it's only a 4-issue mini, but I really wish there were more buzz about it.

I am enjoying it too. But now that is coming to Migard, i don't know about the villain picked, wasn't he in Jane Valkyrie comics too? Immortal Thor next?

Yeah, I don't know too much about Bullseye other than that he was in Valkyrie. Seems like an odd choice for a final villain, seeing as he's not really attached to Asgard (that I know of) and isn't from Loki's past like Billy and Teddy were. I'm still hopeful that it will be good, since it's been so good up until this point. I feel like Watters has a really good voice for Loki.

Preview for #4 has been up for a couple days. So sad to see this mini end. I've enjoyed it a great deal.

Yeah, I'm not clicking on Bleeding Cool - I pointed out a mistake in an article once and they suspended my account. I just cancelled and never went back.

Looking forward, if we acknowledge last Loki solo comics, probably the one that feels more like a Loki's true Journey.

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm sad to see it end. Watter's Loki is, in my opinion, the best continuation of the story Gillen set up. He/she feels like the same character that we saw in Young Avengers; still a liar and a schemer and kind of a jerk, but with relatively good intentions. He got the character just perfect. Gillen's Loki was the character that got me reading Marvel comics and I've been missing that Loki these last few years. I even love the little details like how Loki's style keeps changing (the shorter coat in the last issue, the makeup in issue 3 that wasn't there in the others); Loki always was arrogant and vain and Ewing's Loki just...isn't. It feels like Ewing is so desperate to show that Loki's good now that he dumped all his/her more negative traits, not understanding how much fun they make the character. Loved seeing him interacting with Billy and Teddy, too. I would've loved to see Watters go deeper into Loki's relationship with the Young Avengers.

And the art is killer, too.

I'm going to miss this mini. I've already pre-ordered the trade.

I just love Gillen work on Thor, Loki (JIM) and even that 5 issues in Angela AA, i miss Leah and concepts like her, i was saying in Thor appreciation thread one time, how Gillen did Hela origin so much better than this recent take by Torunn Grønbekk.

Besides what you said that i agree, the tone is just right too, and the fantasy world fits so well, even when he went cosmic like last issue.

Gillen knows how to write fantasy, and I think Watters has proved that he does, too. They can both nail that mythic feel that a lot of writers can't but is such an important part of what I love about Asgard-centric comics. I feel like Loki in particular is a hard character because he/she has to straddle the line between fantasy and modern, more so than any other character. Ewing leans far too modern for my taste, although I thought he did a decent job with Loki's narration in the first issue of Immortal Thor.

I know it's a pipe-dream, but there's a part of me that hopes this mini does killer in sales and they let Watters and Peralta do a follow-up. I know it'll never happen, but a girl can dream, can't she?

After this mini, Al recurrent portrayal in immortal + S02 TV series, maybe there are solid foundations for a Watters/Peralta full run, Gillen did come back to Thor related titles after his original take on the main title.

Oh, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is a fantastic cartoon! And it has a great depiction of Thor and his universe (they actually incorporated some concepts from a pitched Thor cartoon).
