From a secular point of view, it is dubious that the individual ever existed in the first place. The chemicals that cause our thoughts are constantly being burned up and eliminated as waste. We are like a more complicated version of a fire. If you look at a fire on the stove, it looks like one thing: it has a teardrop shape, a blue base, an orange and yellow cone. In reality, the fire from a second ago is now chemicals floating in the air, and what will be the fire a moment from now is gas flowing down the pipe. The singularity of the fire is an illusion. As are we. We are all ships of Theseus being replaced at a rapid rate. The very formation of a single thought destroys us. Yesterdays you is waste material. Tomorrow's you is sitting in your refrigerator. There is no eternal "you". "You" are an illusion continuously created by burning chemicals because that illusion causes behavior that preserves a certain set of genes.

Sure, we are ever-changing physically if not mentally; but even if we accepted that Ben Reilly is a "perfect copy" of Peter Parker, he was not, is not, and will never be Peter Parker even if he assumes Pete's name and the mantle of Spider-Man (I prefer him as the Scarlet Spider anyway).

Well, Marvel has already shown what would happen if the natural order is subverted for good.

It was called the Cancerverse.

And at least this fate for the MCU was averted thanks to Jane Foster.
The Death of Death nearly caused the death of Death mostly because the Krakoan Resurrections and the Green Doors. Death of the Death asked Jane about the fate of Death but because Jane was a cancer victim and also heard about the Cancerverse so she said Death is needed for the Universe.
