I'm pretty sure he persuaded the Sinister Six in helping him against the Living Brain. I think the situation with Tombstone was the worst. Tombstone not only tormented, tortured and beat the breaks off of him but also played him for a fool on top of that. He was way too passive aggressive in dealing with Tombstone in the end. At the very least, Spider-Man should've physically laid waste to Tombstone.

He didn't beat Tombstone, at least in a physical fight. Instead Tombstone just walloped and used him.

He got beat up by the Hobgoblins and needed Norman to save him.

And now plenty of moments in Dark Web.

I feel like writers just take Spidey being an "underdog" too far to the point where he doesn't get to accomplish anything on his own.

1) Kareem “saved” him - it was a set up, but Peter fully thought he was going to die and needed the rescue, he was incapable of self-rescue.

2) He’s beaten to a pulp by the SuperAdaptoid, and is only saved when the Living Brain realizes he’s still alive and screams in fear instead of killing him. Then the Sinister Six help him take down the SuperAdaptoid, and when the Sinister Six turn on Spidey, the Living Brain rescues him by magicking the Sinister Six away

3) The Vulture drops him from a height, his fall is broken by a tree, and then the Vulture rams him into a chimney which makes Peter decide he’s going to die and begs Norman for help. Peter then steers the Vulture to Oscorp so he can be rescued by his fancy Oscorp suit.

4) Wolverine saves Peter from being stabbed by Moira. Peter’s contribution is to drop the EMT so Moira can get away.

5) Peter thinks he’s going to die, Norman rescues him from the Hobgoblins.

6) The demon Insidious Six barely trade blows with Peter when he’s left crumpled on the ground, resigned to losing an eye. RekRap saves him.

7) Chasm is about to deliver a killing blow when “friend” Norman shows up with Ms. Marvel.

Did I miss any?

Cause I really hate Madelyne after this.

I know the whole story with her, Scott dumped her, she's a clone, lost her kid, yadda yadda but honestly who gives a fuck. I feel like when you lead a demon army into a populated to terrorize and get a punch of people killed, you lose all sympathy.

Cry me a fucking river Madelyne. The X-Men are way too easy on their own.

I will say the Vulture thing may have been softened a bit by the fact that Toomes specifically wrecked his webshooters. But yeah, that seems to be all.

Moira? Really? Man...

Sometimes I consider binge reading bad runs just to understand the context of some shit, but man, I already to struggle a lot of the stuff Slott does (I'm tolerating his dialogue style less and less over time, I already don't really like Stan Lee's dialogue style and Slott's is far worse), but Zeb Wells' is looking even worse... Which's kinda impressive if that's the case.

But seriously, who the hell is this run for? Only people who like angst porn? Or also people who love to hate on Spidey and want to see im being shit on? Sheesh...

Yeah, this kind of reaction is exactly what happens when a character like Madelyne doesn't get treated like she "should" be.

Let's compare this to Dragon Ball, we have Vegeta in Androids/Cell saga, and he's still a villain there, and while Goku and Bulma are okay with him, most of the other characters aren't, he's treated as a temporary ally at best, and once Trunks learns that Vegeta didn't even care about saving Bulma and baby Trunks, he got so pissed off with Vegeta he started to think his own mother was wrong about Vegeta having any good on him.

And in Dark Web, we have Madelyne, the sad woman who once tried to kill her son, and now just wants Jean's memories of this same son 'cause she apparently always loved him, and this same son (Cable for those not aware of X-Men shit) is around in Krakoa but she makes no effort to talk with him... And this same sad, sad woman who just caused a demon invasion, gets the memories she wants so bad, and she even gets to strong arm USA into accepting a Limbo embassy in New York...

Like, what the fuck kind of redemption is this? She barely even regrets what she did, she gets everything she wanted to get in this story arc, and everyone treat her just fine despite how much of a bitch she is.

Asshole characters can be fun, but they need someone to pull their ear once in a while so they don't get away with everything too much, and Madelyne is not just an asshole, but also a villain, and X-Men are letting her get too damn much... Yeah, way to make a character likeable.

Honestly, this story kinda killed my interest on Madelyne, at least for now, 'cause I get the feeling she'll keep getting away with shit for a while and I don't care about asshole characters who manage to make everyone else kiss their ass while leaving lipstick marks... I've pointed out a few times that I don't like how much asshole characters get away with their actions in that Young Justice cartoon (To the point its interpretation of Dick is an unlikeable asshole to me), and Madelyne right now is far, far worse than the nonsense YJ came up with.

I will say the Vulture thing may have been softened a bit by the fact that Toomes specifically wrecked his webshooters. But yeah, that seems to be all.

Honestly, considering that as early as ASM Annual#1 Vulture realized that webshooters are a huge advantage Spidey has to the point he even told Spidey he'd have without the webshooters or Vulture would just escape, it is a surprise how little he tries to counter them lol.

I only ever seen Zdarsky's Vulture countering them, he did something to his wings (Or maybe the whole costume) that can rip off the webs from it, removing one of Spidey's biggest advantages.

This run was only made for Editorial, no one else. You can see it in the totally unhinged and pathetic way Peter is depicted throughout the entire run.
