Watchmen and Jessica Jones.
Watchmen and Jessica Jones.
I think Heroes would have been better if the writers had moved on to something else rather than constantly coming back to Sylar. Yes, Zachary Quinto did a great job with the character, he was a breakout villain... but they should have moved on to different threats and maybe left The Return of Sylar for 3 or 4 seasons down the line. In season 2 they should have focused on the heroes coming together into a real superhero team... with or without matching costumes. (You know Hiro would want the matching costumes.)
I don't feel like searching for it, but I'm sure I read that Heroes was supposed to be an anthology, where season two would've had a different focus, but the network forced them to continue the same characters because of their popularity.
To challenge myself, I won't consider any single-season shows, so for me, only ones I think can of thus far are:
House of Cards (has good seasons after, but great? I'll say no)
Jessica Jones
True Detective (caveat: so far, it could remove itself from my list)
Note: Heroes I never watched, don't doubt it would probably be listed if I did. Westworld I did see season 1, great, but only saw parts of the 2nd season, I'm sure I would list it if I saw the rest (to have judged fairly).

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft
Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”
A few more spring to mind:
Superboy & The Legion of Superheroes
Batman Beyond
I think the new Westworld was a bit flawed overall, but the first season was certainly the best of them.
I remember disliking how little crazy, human-killing robot action was taking place. Then, in the second season, they gave it to us viewers, and it stunk. It was much more interesting during that first season.
I can’t believe HBO is continuing with this show. The first season was amazing.
The second season was bad, not unwatchable, but bad.
The third season started strong and then ended up being so boring.
And now, they’re making a fourth season. Why? Nothing they do will come near to how good that first season was. HBO should cancel that show, just give it up. They will not catch lightning in a bottle again.
Two favorites from the mid 90s were 'Profit' starring Adrian Pasdar and 'American Gothic' starring Gary Cole, Lucas Black and Sarah Paulson.
Wyona Earp, after season 1 it was all downhill.
Stranger Things
I thought season 1 was great and ended perfectly with a cool cliffhanger that shouldn't have been resolved. The other seasons haven't added much to the show IMO.
