Sabertooth generally used blunt trauma to knock him out (like that bullet to the adamantium skull did) rather than try to claw him, as Logan's pain tolerance is kinda crazy high throughout the entire series, especially with regards to being stabbed or turned into a pincushion with arrows while his healing factor was on the fritz.

Heck, in that fight they both showed that they can pretty much instantly recover from being stabbed as fast as the blade can come out of them, so while being stabbed really fast is going to be a lot more distracting then Jessy being shanked once, it's not like he endured that stabfest for took more than a few seconds, or probably didn't realize that he was surrounded by adamantium implanting gear as soon as he entered that room, what with his superhuman senses and all.

wolverine's senses in the movies never seemed all that acute to me.

In X1 he could only tell that someone was around (sabretooth outdoors) and mystique as the Statue of Liberty.

In X3, he could not even see through the mist, as he required storm to clear it out.

I mean, identifying a shape shifters as good as Mystique by event is a pretty decent feat in and of itself and its not like acute vision helps you much when dealing with fog since that's a physical obstruction and it's not like Logan has X-Ray Vision.

Similarly, neither of those are really analogous to being in a room with giant vats full of the liquid form of the extremely rare metal that your bones and the claws of both yourself and your current enemy are covered in, in the homebase of the guy who covered your bones and claws in said metal.

Wolvie should have been able to smell Mystique's dirty smelly bare feet. And storm could see as well as logan through the fog.

Logan did not know the smell of Adamantium. That was Stryker who knew a creature he created. He said so twice, both in the mansion invasion and also in the spillway when Mystique tried to impersonate Logan.
