Default Natural 1 and 20 in x men

If the x-men were the longest running superhero rpg ever, can you pinpoint examples of critical 1/failure and natural 20/crazy success in the comics?
Example: old man logan god devoured by future incestuous Hulk, opposite rolls, logan roll a natural 20 on endurance. Logan literally EXPLODE slashing through Hulk killing him instantly

Not sure if this is applicable, given that these aren't narrative games with an element of chance added in to simulate fortune and misfortune, but completely controlled narrative. Therefor chance isn't a real factor, story is.

Characters will always have as much fortune adn misfortunate as the plot demands.

A million to one chance will always work if it's to the benefit of the hero or villain, while a 100% chance to hit will miss most of the time to preserve drama.

The whole fun around the natural 1 and 20 in tabletop RPGs is that they are the result of the narrative being bendable, breakable infact. Something which seldomly will occur in fully narrative stories for obvious reasons.

For Marvel comics and X-men they can therefor only ever occur in said open narratives, not in the comics themself.

Zeb Wells Magik arc back during his New Mutants run is a remarkable display of Nat20 Deception & Persuasion and/or Charisma based maneuvers on Illyana's part, defeating the Elder Gods by way of Legion-ization. haha.

Followed by a 1 when she couldn't persuade Cyclops not to imprison her and strap a bomb to her chest, and another 20 when she got Kitty and Piotr to forgive her a couple years later?

I understand the purpose. I just think it doesn't work like that when it's not the result of a bunch of people sitting around a table and seeing a completely unexpected scenario occuring in their minds eye because someone cast a dice. Or the DM having to actualy describe the scenario that unveils itself as result.

Therefor this whole topic isn't nearly as fun, as if it's actualy anectodes of people who had experienced these scenarios.

The kinds where Jean Grey turns to dust because she tried to use the phoenix force and came out with a 1 or Pixie making a Sentinel explode with her dust because her player had a 20 and in both situation someone having to explain why and how it happend.

Dude, that's total homebrew. Skill checks and saves can't have a critical success or failure. Under RAW only attack rolls are affected by a natural 1 or 20.

Hulks mouth was not that big, he did not chewed it to pieces.....did....did Wasteland hulk unhinged his jaw like a boa? did his throad stretched to let Logan pass thorugh it?....that...I do not wanted to think about that logistic right now...ffffffff)
