That BLUE BEETLE ad really caught my eye. I managed to acquire only one issue of his series, however, and then it was mostly the comedic escapades in the JLI.
Likewise I got one issue of BATMAN and THE OUTSIDERS where Geo-Force faced Superman, then I saw this distressing ad...

Looking at all the post Crisis 80’s ads reminds me of what a fun time that was. Everything seemed fresh to me.
These are ads I remember from my first year reading comics.

Given my youth and inexperience, the post-COIE was the DC universe I first got to know when reading/collecting comics. It's amazing how they were able to take Earth-1, Earth-2, and others like the Charlton and Fawcett Earths and integrate them into a fresh-faced new one. Originally Posted by Jon-El

Likewise it didn't sink into me that Dark Knight Returns was an alternate reality, and one very much worth reading until many years later.
