    Arachne would be a good choice, too, considering she was on Freedom Force with Mystique's Brotherhood after her initial debut in the original Secret Wars and then became a West Coast Avenger.

    I love these threads. Especially when I'm still drinking coffee and the mind isn't fully working yet.

    Let's see. I'll keep it to seven members, to mirror McKay's roster, and I won't use anyone he is. Also haven't read the X books in years so I'm only vaguely aware of what's going on over there. So, giving this absolutely no consideration whatsoever...

    Captain America (Steve).
    Jean Gray.
    Quicksilver.
    Wasp/Ant-Man.
    Colossus.
    Storm.
    Photon (Monica).

    Yes, I'm counting Wasp and Ant-Man as one character. In my mind they're a package deal. I'd prefer Janet Van Dyne and Scott Lang in the roles, but the team is missing a tech genius so we could use Nadia if we had to.

    Roster's split equally between mutant and non-mutant, male and female. Everyone's a well known member of their traditional team that most nerds are going to be familiar with, and the team has a lot of versatility, varied powersets, and heavy hitters. *I* wouldn't want to fight them.

    It really does kind of make sense to have Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch be the anchors of the team, given their history with both groups.
