While the group might have originated in Japan the art and skill of being a Ninja isn't race-specific. Anyone can train to be one, just as anyone can train and master any of the fighting arts.

I hope this one works out. She's one of my favourite X-Men when she's written right, but I hated the pirate motif and she hasn't felt like the same character since this era started.
