Default What non-animated show written for adults became more popular with children

I'd bet a lot of us came home after school and watched reruns of non-animated tv shows that were done aimed at adults but became more popular in reruns with kids.

    What was your favorite(s)?

For me, it was Gilligan's Island.

DARK SHADOWS had a lot of adult content, yet I watched it every afternoon during the week right after school (at 4 p.m., I think). A show about vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts, time travel and parallel worlds--cool. I even dressed up as Barnabas Collins one Hallowe'en.

Dukes is funnier as it's a follow up to the adult aimed movie moonrunners. The first episode even tells what happened to the movie dukes!

Hopefully this counts, but my choice would be The Monkees

The 1st season which was like 6 or 8 episodes and filmed on location in Georgia even had a RV Cat House. But by season 2 they realized kids were watching and did a 180 and the show eventually even had a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

    Don't agree on the Monkees.

I was a kid when THE MONKEES first aired and I know for a fact that it was aimed directly at me. They're the young generation and they got something to say. They defined Bubble Gum Rock. It was only later, when Bob Rafelson became conflicted over creating a commercial craze of sugary sweet goodness against his desire to be taken seriously as an artiste, that he reversed the polarity and introduced adult-themed corruption and degradation into the franchise (via HEAD).

I would put The Brady Bunch, Bewitched and I Dream Of Jeannie in this category. I think you could argue that all three have a beloved following to this day because kids discovered and watched them in syndication in the daytime.
“You see…the rest of them are soldiers. But [Wonder Woman] is an artist.”

I only support the made of clay origin.

Not true - I watched them in syndication in the nighttime. Good old Nick at Night.
