Mookie Betts travels with a full kitchen set-up, cooking utensils, oils, spices, an electric grill, and other stuff. Makes sense actually, when you think of all the travel and bad for you restaurant food you'd have to eat as an MLB player...this is a way for him to control what he eats. I approve of his approach to his business. How did the Red Sox give him away again?

Of course, as many have noted, the Red Sox are the Dodger's East, home to unwanted and callously discarded former Dodgers...

An Adames seeking missile of a foul ball hit him while he was on the top step of the dugout. He was floored, then tended to by the medical staff. No skull fractures, but he's an overnight patient at hospital for observation. His poor teammate finished his at bat in tears. Yeah, I can relate; there's probably few things worse than accidentally hurting another player or a fan.

Zack Wheeler gave up three hits and fanned twelve in eight shutout innings in a 2-1 Phillies win over Atlanta today. This might well have been the best start of Wheeler’s career and it gives the Phightins a split at best in this four game series against the Braves. The teams play on ESPN tomorrow night.

    Nice win for the Phillies.

Braves respond with a 7 run first inning and another Spencer Strider gem, big news is that tomorrow will mark the return of Mike Soroka who will have his first start since he tore his Achilles tendon back in 2020

Wait, Soroka is real?!? I thought he was an urban legend, that player who never seems to be there because he's always on the IL. Does he know Bigfoot? Anyhow, good on him and the Braves, now maybe we'll see what he's still got.

At least folks here in Philly got to bed early since that game was effectively over after the first inning.

I've watched them a lot this season, (and the past few), and while I like them, I can't figure them out. They've got a lot of great stars on their roster...who just aren't getting it done. It isn't just injuries, either, they're just not playing to their potential, and that is very frustrating. Oh well, they're obviously trying, maybe that's enough, along with a check for north of $500 million, to win the Shohei sweepstakes.

And the Rangers signed him for what, FIVE years? Talk about a bad deal.

That sounds like an Angels sort of deal. I mean last week they signed Babe Ruth, expecting him to slot in in center field. They heard he's quite the slugger.

He needs elbow surgery, it may not be TJ though, they are exploring other options still.
