As a general rule, ships don't come with crews, but it's quite easy to buy very cheap characters to fill them. In fact, I'd argue that's why cheap characters have worth and why we don't just avoid adding them to the character list.

OK, so rules clarification, am I allowed to draft more than eight characters and not have to boost them all up to 10 points if they are a cheap crew to pilot one expensive vehicle?

EDIT: Also would someone like to tell me what the glowing crystal from Chronicle is? Google just tells me about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle when I tried to look it up.

You probably have to have them at 10 points at the start. Other options are get a good Technopath, or get a good AI to run it, or make it Sentient.

Better yet you can add them as an item to buy like "Generic Star Ship Crew(10 people) 2" or something like that. Especially if they are solely there to run the ship.

Yeah, that's what KJS suggested. But I'm just looking for what to spend my points on now, and there's a few cool vehicles, but they require at least 5-people crews. SO I was hoping if I grabbed a bunch of ones I could put in a vehicle it could add them all up into one "unit" of points rather than 10 each.

I mean KJS did suggest that having them for crewing was the main reason to keep low-powered characters on the league, so I'm not sure he'd let me get away with that. Especially as the time for adding new stuff has passed.

Please give it a couple of days. I've had enough of editing the "taken" characters and items for now and don't want to have to find your changes in a sea of posts when I get around to editing them in. But then, yes, if you wish.
