too much hero vs hero
blah.
MCU is in such a slump now the comics are rerunning events.
Incoming Spiderman gets folded by heroes weaker than him moment.
Hero vs Hero is long running Marvel Tradition.
What do y'all reckon the "Contest" part of the title refers to?
In the OG Contest of Champions, that was getting your wish granted (I think). What's at stake now? A pony?
Perhaps a bunch of hostages get taken, and the only way for them to live is for the heroes to duke it out?
The next event should be Contest Of Contests, where Marvel's greatest heroes compete to see who can go the longest without pleasuring themselves.......
Seriously, Contest of Chaos really should be a no-holds barred slugfest of every villain that has ever existed.
Something about the title of this event makes me think like it'll be Wanda-focused somehow
With her currently keeping Chthon locked up, I wouldn't be surprised. He's probably not too happy about that.
So I got a theory here. This event could be an attempt at him breaking free. As per Darkhold we have seen what happens with people who fall under his corruption. They get mad and power hungry with loyalties to nobody. That would explain the "Contest" part as all the corrupted battle each other for power.
If you look at the cover it's curious that none of the Avengers are fighting each other. I wager Wanda manages to protect herself and a small group of other heroes from Chthons corruption and they have to figure a way out to fix this mess.
Also this technically wouldn't make it an hero vs hero event because the big bad is Chthon. They won't punch each other in the face because they have become stupid ala Civil War but because they have become vitcims of an Elder God.
Perfect opportunity for Marvel to have their cake and eating it too.
